Need advice.

Okay heres the situation. I played in the rain the other day and forgot to wipe the putter after I finished.... :) . When I opened up the cover today the hosel and part of the face is rusted. The putter originally had a 3x black finish and now the rusted portions look almost like oil can. I want to do this to the rest of the putter. It is a matte oil can look. So what can I do to rust the rest of it, but not get the spotty rust like I see sometimes. I want more of a matte rusty oil can look.

What do you think I should do?

So you want all of the putter to be rusted?? Am i reading this correctly? If that is the case just leave your putter in a bucket of water for a day or two. I think that should work but there are guys here who could tell you otherwise

You can wrap the putter in a wet towel and it should rust all over. It may be difficult to control the spotty finish that you are trying to avoid. In the end if you don't like it you can send it back to Scotty to have him re-finish it.

You could just coke it and take the rust off... im not sure if cokeing it will take off the black finish too
