what to get?

what up golfers.........now that my iron search has come to an end......i'm looking for some golf balls to compliment my irons and game........

i did a little search and needless to say....i'm not the best player and i'm also not the worst of all either........i try to get out to the range at least once or twice a week and the weekends are for the course.......

i'm looking for something that will cure my slice.....i know part of it has to do with my swing also, but a ball that will get rid of the slice.........long distance........and soft but durable........awesome value/quality!

i've been reading and the the two that i'm kinda leaning towards are the titliest dt solo and the bridgestone e6.........help with these two balls or suggest other ball and what your experience!

The 05 nike one black can be found in the $25 price range and the utri tour by precept can also be found for $20 a dozen. Those are two great balls for the price.

Do you know where I could find U-Tri's in the area Forrre? You got any at the shop?

 

I played a quick nine with the assistant pro here last night, found an NXT Tour and played it after I barely clipped a tree on #6 and couldn't find the ball. It was not aweful and it is making me re-think my ball usage in mess-around rounds. As soon as I begin to do that i remember how much i loved to U-Tri's.

I am sold out but there are a couple of targets in the area that have some. The one at 119th and i-35 had a few dozen last week.

Maybe I will go target jumping next time i am in Kansas City. I know the Lawrence one does not have any. Oh well.

You might also try the Pinnacle Exception. The durable cover reduces spin, and the core is a relatively low compression yet high velocity (long off the tee). They run about $18/dozen.

 

I've been using them for a few years now, especially when it is damp and the ProV1's start spinning back toward me. The only negative I see is the reduced spin around the greens: requiring a different approach: bump'n'run type of shot. But I find that type of shot to be much easier to pull off anyway. Also, I really like the muffled sound, a lot less "clicky" than the premium balls, feels softer to me.

I only buy 2 piece balls and I've hit most of the popular ones, but not the B-stone e6's, and my two favorites are the Pinnacle Exception and Srixon AD333. Both are pretty similar to the DT Solo's (which I also like) but cost $5-7 bucks less per 12 around here.

No matter what you get, there isn't going to be a ball that will defeat your slice. Your swing is what causes the slice, not the ball....

 

But if you want a good ball that is 2 piece I would have to say any of the Titleist balls would be your best bet. Lets face it, Titleist never lets you down.
