stiffness of project X versus dynamic gold

comparison help needed
Sorry if this has been asked a ton of times but of the following shafts what would be the order of relative stiffness in the same club and same swingweight. Dynamic Gold R300, Dynamic Gold S300, and Project X 5.5. I think I remember that TFR 6.0 is stiffer than Dyamic Gold S300 but I do not have any data on the other three relative to each other.

Thanks in advance for any information. Flex board, CPM, opinion from hitting anything would be welcome.

Just as you have them listed, Sandy. R300 softest, then S300, the Project X 5.5 a little stiffer than the S3s and feels a little harsher on misses. The DGs will spin the ball more but launch lower. PX is low spin, higher launch, and typically a little longer if flex is fitted. More specs:

5-iron specs

...............cut shaft wt.(grams).....frequency(CPM).....torque

DG R300..............110.9.....................304..................1.80

DG S300..............114.4.....................320..................1.66

Projext X 5.5........106.4.....................321..................1.60

for reference:

DG X100..............114.9.....................329..................1.62

for a smooth transition player, project x will feel really stiff. the taper tips seem to play more consistently than the parallels in the px. i have seen parallel tip px's that were really, really, really stiff and inconsistent from one iron to the next, but the tapers for whatever reason seem more stiff but uniformly so.

Thank you for the excellent data. Any idea where a S300 SL might fall in the list? Perhaps between the R300 and S300?

The DGSL has a little less friendly feel on mishits....kind of like it's made of a less "elastic" metal. I really like the results with them, though. The Black Golds play stiff to flex, feel/are heavier, but have a pronounced unloading that really launches the ball. A good shaft, imo. Notice moving down to R-flex in the two is a significant change, especially in the SLs.

I recently put DG SL S-300's in my X-Tours, soft-stepped 1/2" or one club, the standard S-300's felt real heavy in the X-tours. I REALLY like them now, best shaft change I've ever done. Hope this helps.

Wow that's great info and interesting to see the specs, thanks. If it's not too much trouble could you add Tour Concept to that list? Wondering where the S3 fits in the mix. Thanks again.

Sorry, no data on Tour Concept yet.

A good rule of thumb is to consider the Dynamic Gold S300 equivalent to a 5.8 Flex on the Rifle/PX scale. (So right between 5.5 and 6.0)

IMO, DG's have a rather harsh feel compared to the Rifles or PX. The Rifle and PX shafts just have far less vibration on mishits compared to the DG''s.
