So, I got some bad news this week and it looks like I am going to be out of the game for a while due to a hip injury and most likely surgery upcoming. Not sure at this point what my time frame is looking like for everything to happen. I am not very thrilled about it at all I was looking forward to a summer of some very good golf with the AGA mid am series and my wekopass, but right now its just not worth it with the amount of pain and further damage I am doing myself. I hope to be recovered in time to join you, but have no idea at this point what the recovery time will be.

If someone else wants to take the lead on a summer outing feel free to PM me and I can get you my contact info for Grayhawk to get something lined up. Grayhawk is super easy and great to work with, the hard part is getting everyone organized on the board here, usually there are a few last minute dropouts and then some other guys that want to join.

That's bad news Matt, but better to get it taken care of now than to risk further injury and longer recovery.

the worst part is it looks like eventually I will need to have a total hip replacement, for now the best bet is looking like having the bone spurs shaved down just so I can be comfortable again. The good news is at least now I have something to blame my terrible play the last few months on .

 

I was really looking forward to the mid am stuff and playing some of those courses, hopefully I will be able to catch a few at the end. Knowing me I will still find a way to play, not playing for a week is bad enough I dont know how I will be able to shut it down for an extended period of time.

Thanks Sam, I have a MRI scheduled for tomorrow so hopefully I will have the complete picture and second opinion early next week. Hopefully I can be back in time to take advantage of the summer rates. If not I can just save the money from playing and get some new gear.

Will do, if all goes according to my initial plan I am going to try and get a cortisone shot to get me through the next month then have the surgery right after I get back from the US Open. Maybe that will make me feel well enough to try and sneak one last round in.

As far as working on the feedback score, there is a pretty good chance that I will end up with a Fast 10 head and oban devotion or px 6.5 shaft. I may need the extra ball speed to keep up with you and mark. I dont think I can get rid of the Ft5 though, way to trusty of a driver.

I understand, when I played with Mark and Medicaptain, I took the Justin Leonard approach. I just ignored the new Walmart they were building between my ball and theirs...LOL
