Anyone buy anything over the winter and finally get to use it outside?

Played my first couple of rounds this year (finally!). I have changed almost everything in my bag since the end of last season.

biggest surprises:
-My G15 irons fly much higher than they seemed to indoors, not too high, in fact it's perfect since i'm a low ball hitter. But still i was surprised, this could work for me...i landed 5 and 6 irons very softly. Also the ground was rock hard and the wide soles still were great.
-My new driver combo, G15 with aldila NV (pink version!!!) is stupidly long. In to a monitor i hit it the same distance as my FT9 whiteboard...but not outside, outside the G15 demolished it (demolished it). I had 2 of the longest drives i've ever hit and it sounds better too.
-I'm in love with my new putter, stepped onto the practice green and drained my first 7-8 putts. Then on the 10th hole sunk a 20 footer for eagle. LOVE my putter!

anyone else got stories/comments?

I switched everything except my Nike VR irons and wedges, which I'm really happy with.

The driver and 3wood are Ping G15s (switched from an FT-iq driver and Diablo 3w). Super forgiving (as mentioned above) and, fortunately for me, after a Ping fitting, the Serrano was the best shaft for me. Great shaft without the upcharge! I'm positive that these won't be going anywhere this year. The driver, while amazing, May (but probably won't) be replaced by whatever *****s my pickle next year. The 3wood definitely isn't going anywhere though.

The hybrid is a Nike Machspeed (switched from a Callaway FT hybrid). Not THE most attractive club in the world, but not too bad, and has a nice, solid feel to it. Like the VR irons, I found that I got really good feedback with ample forgiveness.

I just picked up a Scotty Cameron Circa 62 #3 (switched from a Talormade Rossa TP KiaMa Monaco). I'm keeping the KiaMa, as I love putters with the raised-tie profile and one alignment dot. However, the Cameron is about 15g lighter, which I like, and I prefer the colour (charcoal mist instead of black) and the look at address (slightly thicker topline, with more squared edges). I'm also REALLY looking forward to sending it in to the SC custom shop at the end of the season!

Finally, I've decided to become a one-ball player this year, and I've settled on the Nike One Vapor Speed. Works well with my less-than-perfect long game, with sufficient spin and feel around the greens!

Feel free to check out the linked WITB in my sig to se pics!

Couple changes at the top and bottom of my bag that I'll probably continue to experiment with over the next couple months:

4 Woods - R9 vs. SQ2 - in my first few range sessions, I thought the R9 was going to be the clear winner, as we can still only hit off of mats at my club and the TM was clearly going straighter and more solidly struck. However, on the 3 times I've snuck out to play a couple holes the Nike really has a nice feel and trajectory to it and gets through the turf nicely. I'm going to need quite a bit more time on this competition.

Scratch 1018 53* and 59* - just two good practice sessions and I think once on the course, but I like what I feel so far. Especially the D/D grind of the 59 and how it gets through softer turf and thick rough, I think it's going to be a winner.

Putters are always up in the air for me. Just got a Betti Studio Stock #4 last week from a member here, and have a Button Back on the way later this week. Can't wait to try out both sometime soon.

Pretty much my entire bag is new for 2010, here are some thoughts on the new equipment:

I got some new irons just before Christmas which I have been trying out this winter. They are X-22 Tours and I am really liking them. Ballflight and turf interaction are perfect. Then again, can't really be sure with the ballflight since it is always windy these days. So far so good though.

I got two new wedges that are Adams Tom Watson PVD's which are almost identical to my X-forged 62 degree in everything but feel. For the money they are great. ($30 for both)

I've tried a couple of hybrids and woods this winter but settled (almost) on an Adams Idea Pro Gold 20° hybrid and a Taylormade Burner Tour Launch Fairway. I'm not 100% sure on the fairway but the hybrid is staying in the bag.

The driver is new, well at least to me. I got a Taylormade r7 Superquad to replace my Hyper X and I think it's superb. Pretty much perfect for me.

I traded in my Odyssey White Hot XG #7 and got a Rife Antigua instead. Great putter in my opinion, haven't had it out on the course yet though.

I'm really looking forward to the 2010 golf season and I think it will be a good one. I'm pretty much settled on the bag, hopefully my ho-ing days are over.
