Vancouver golf tour , Northview Ridge course

I am playing an event at this wonderful course, I have only played the canal, do anyone have and tips or advice for this track ? Does one need a caddy for such a course?

Hi,
You might not believe this but most Vancouverites do not consider this course as a course that we would like people to think of most. It is really designed differently than the courses that we like.
You don't need a caddy, maybe a cart. Do yourself a favour and ask about some of our real gems.

I play Northview once a year every year at my company's annual golf tournament. Usually play canal but I've played the Ridge a few times as well. Love both courses.

The Canal is pretty open - more of a link style course. If the wind's blowing, it can be a real challenge. The Ridge is the more challenging course, IMO. They played the ACC there and if you play from the tips bring your A game.

I doubt you need a caddy. Enjoy your round(s)!

If you can, try to get out for a practice round, it's not the most straight forward course. One of the things I can think of is the tee shot on 3. If you can hit a left to right tee shot around the trees on the corner of the dogleg right, there is definitely more room on the right than left and a better angle for the approach. Number 7 is a par 5 with a blind tee shot, but there is a little 'dip' in the fairway that most people aim at with driver. 17 is also a blind tee shot, the common thing (I think) is to aim at the middle of the electical towers in the distance. Also on 18, it's a double fairway. Most people take the left fairway if they are making it a 3 shot hole, but it is still easily reachable from there. Going on the right side could leave as little as maybe 9/PW into the green for the second. Perfect greens every time I've been there!

I appreciate the feedback to this point, so I can make a conclusion to this point the ridge is tough. I have played courses around Vancouver and I know that I will need a practice round or even two. Can someone share with me how the greens are and what the course conditions are presently in Van?

Normally the greens at Northview are really *really* good and quite quick. They always have a stemp reading at the clubhouse and I've never seen it lower than 11.

Right now we're going thru a bit of a cold spell in Vancouver and it's quite wet so I haven't been out for a few weeks. The courses I have played have been fine but none of them had really rolled their greens so they've been quite bumpy and slow.
