Accuflex Icon A2 shaft

Anyone have an opinion on this shaft?

Just picked up an Accuflex Icon A2 X-flex to experiment with, and am looking for any information on this shaft. I've done a search, but information is pretty limited. Any opinions on this one?

Which one did you get? Was it the long drive model? I have hit the regular Icon but it is fairly high bend point and does not work well for me.

But Accuflex makes great shafts. Check their website at Accuflex.com.

I have tried a lot of their shafts and like everything I've tried. All seem to play very close to the stated flex and recommendations.

I just ordered an Evolution Lite. And their Icon FH and HL are awesome fairway and hybrid shafts.

It's the original Icon in an X flex (not the V2). I'm a little concerned about the high kick point, but with a 10.5* SQ I may be just fine.

But high launch....at least for me. Not nearly as high as the hibore ...but for the price (trade) it's worth a shot. I'm looking for a more penetrating trajectory, as the Prolaunch tends to balloon.

Beavs, with that animal in the SQ just plan on walking a little farther for your second shot. If you can control it. That's one of the original Long Drive guys shafts.

As long as I'm not walking further right, I'll be happy! I've been trying to find a combo that will give me those nice flat bombs...hopefully this is it!

This was actually not an Original Long Drive Shaft...

 

 

 

This was the first shaft we created to "Attack" the Tour with.....

 

 

 

First sub 50" shaft to have A2 technology....

 

 

 

This was our "Cream of the Crop" shaft at around $200 plus, we Won on the Nationwide Tour the first week it was introduced, and we won on the PGA Tour the third week the shaft was introduced.

 

 

 

The Sell Through to consumers was not very good, I guess because of the price tag, but we quickly followed up with the Icon v.2 that was easier for most swings, and immediately started winning Tour events with that shaft as well.

Not a problem, just wanted to give the story.

 

 

 

Alot of people associate AccuFLEX with Long Drive, well here is the short and sweet story.

 

 

 

When I started AccuFLEX, my goal was to create a Golf Shaft to Fit Every Swing, a friend of mine Chad Roberts is a Long Driver, he came to me, and asked can you make me a LD shaft that will work, I keep breaking other shafts, and they really don't seem to give me my best....

 

 

 

So with only two "standard" shaft designs introduced at that time I designed my first LD 50" shaft for Chad, he tested it, approved it, I mad like 100 pieces.

 

 

 

Chad won his first qualifier he used AccuFLEX, finished 3rd in a Major LD Tour Event, and WON the biggest ,at that time, major field of Long Drivers Tour Event.

 

 

 

So people went crazy wanting this "new" shaft, well requests came in for different swings, lengths, etc... so we sorta catered to those needs, #1 How could I have a Golf Shaft to Fit Every Swing if the Fast swingers couldn't be fit, #2 the Ld guys were great R&D to push the testing envelope, and create new mfg. techniques and materials.

 

 

 

Well the rest is History, 11 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championships and people think of AccuFLEX as a LD company...

 

 

 

But they forget we have 13 Tour Wins (on Various PGA Tours), 100's of top 10's, and recently took the #1 Hybrid Shaft Model Spot on the Nationwide Tour....

 

 

 

And.... we can fit a High Handicap Golfer, to a Touring Pro, to just about anyone that can swing a Golf Club.

I need more time to form an in depth opinion, but my two range sessions thus far tell me that this shaft makes for an AMAZING combination with the SQ. :crazy:
