Element 21 Golf Company Shafts Place Third at the PGA Tours Fedex St. Jude Classic

Thursday June 1, 8:00 am ET

TORONTO--(MARKET WIRE)--Jun 1, 2006 -- Element 21 Golf Company ("E21") (OTC BB:EGLF.OB - News) reported today that a player playing its Eagle One iron shafts placed third at this weekend's Fedex St. Jude Classic played in Memphis, Tennessee. With rounds of 69, 69, 67, 71 the third place was the player's best finish since the 2002 PGA golf season.

Our shafts continue to create a stir on the Professional Tour. To date, E21 shafts have been used in over 12 PGA events," stated Andy Harris, E21's Director of Tour Operations. Players are using or testing out E21 scandium golf shafts on PGA, Champions, LPGA and Nationwide Tours. The visibility on tour also comes from the E21 Tour Van, which has been present in a dozen PGA events including the Players Championship, Masters, Bay Hill Invitational, Byron Nelson Classic, and Bank of America Colonial Invitational.

"Continuing to have a presence on the PGA Champions, LPGA and Nationwide tours is a very important part of our business plan," commented Bill Dey, E21's Executive Vice President and General Manager. "As word continues to spread we are very confident that over time we will see a number of touring professionals turning to our game enhancing technology. We look forward to getting several new E21 products into the hands of professionals in the near future," said Mr. Dey.

About Element 21 Golf Company:

E21 holds the exclusive right to manufacture golf products using proprietary E21 Alloys. Through a sophisticated multi-technology production path E21 manufactures shafts, drivers, and other clubs with marked improvements in distance, accuracy and feel over competing products. In recent months a number of high profile golf professionals have switched to, or began testing E21's Eagle One shafts. E21 Alloys are 55% lighter and offer 25% strength to weight advantage over Titanium alloys, the current standard in the golf equipment industry. The advanced dynamics of E21 Alloys and the material economics offer a performance-enhanced alternative to manufacturing driver clubs with Titanium, the largest segment of the annual $4 billion golf equipment marketplace.

E21 recently announced its "Golf Shot Around the World Mission" in celebration of the 35th anniversary of Alan B. Shepard Jr.'s historic Apollo 14 Mission. Just about every single record for distance in the golf industry will be shattered this fall when an astronaut will hit a golf ball into orbit around the earth from the International Space Station -- using an E21 golf club. It is only natural that this event takes place on the ISS, considering that E21 Alloys are also used on the Space Station in high strength, fatigue resistant applications

supposedly, i heard (according to an article in Design Engineering) that DLIII and Chris DiMarco have made the switch to the E21 shafts... and the technology they put in their clubs sound pretty amazing as well (the scandium alloy) with what they can do with it.

I agree the technology does sound very amazing. Actually their irons look very good as well. I am not to big on the driver they have or the hybrid, but the irons have a very nice design.

Golf stunt cut from spacewalk

CAPE CANAVERAL, Florida (AP) -- The two crewmen aboard the international space station planned to venture outside Thursday night on a nearly six-hour spacewalk filled with maintenance tasks, with no time left for a little golf.

A publicity stunt in which one of the men was supposed to whack a golf ball into orbit for the longest drive in history was scratched.

Instead, Russian commander Pavel Vinogradov and U.S. flight engineer Jeff Williams were scheduled, among other things, to repair an oxygen-generation system, replace a camera, reposition a cable, and retrieve a thruster residue collection plate, a contamination monitoring device and biology experiments.

The spacewalk was the first scheduled for the two crewmen since their arrival at the space station in early April. During their careers, Vinogradov has made five previous spacewalks and Williams has conducted a single spacewalk.

A Canadian golf club manufacturer paid Russia's space agency an undisclosed amount to have Vinogradov hit a gold-plated golf ball into space.

But the stunt was postponed until later in the year after NASA asked the Russians to use the half-hour instead to replace a camera on a railcar that is being used to construct the space station, said Nataliya Hearn, president and chief executive of Element 21 Golf.

But NASA officials disputed that account, saying the golf company had asked for the postponement.
