This is a comedy surely, If Hogan rolled his left forearm and didn't "cup" his left wrist / combined with pitch elbow plus the weaker left hand ... where would he have ended up ? I'm thinking flat as heck with a bowed left wrist in transition and hitting smother hooks as a general shot pattern

Glove??

I don't think many people would argue that he did have a slight cup and I think Dariusz J hit the nail on the head. That slight cup is not a deliberate cupping of the left wrist but the result of forearm clockwise pronation. The opposite would be counter clockwise pronation of the left forearm which naturally flattens/bow the left wrist.

Again...from the "Life Magazine" article:

"When the secret is applied the left wrist bends backward and inward forming a slight V".

Such a phenomenon can happen only during pronation of the forearm - BTW, the word Hogan used multiple times in the article. It seems quite obvious that pronation is the culprit and not the viceversa.

Cheers

Copy full image to desktop. View with whatever and zoom in, it is definitely a glove. The excess material near the heal pad is visible. Either that or it is another friggn secret.

Upon further review, sure looks like it could just be a watch.

This a simply not true. Hogan said that he deliberately and actually was his only swing thought to cupped/bent his left wrist at the top of his swing ... its in the article , and further stated he moved his left hand to a weaker position at set up.
Weaker left hand grip + pronation and pitch elbow does not give a bent/ cupped left wrist... he clearly explained that the pronation would do to the hands and where they would face at the top and it would be a hookers heaven and his 2 adjustments changed the whole deal
I just read it again to make sure of Hogan's words

I suspect the gloved "Hogan" was John Gustin. He was a good friend of Hogan and frequently dressed like him.The not so tucked in right elbow and left shoulder under his nose are good indications.
