mx-300 buzz

I've been searching for a new set of irons and in doing so I notice that there is a lot of buzz surronding the mx-300. I decided to demo the club vs diablo forged and mp-58's. I did like the feel of the 300's and diablo but don't think I am ready for the mp-58. How many of you guys are gaming any of these clubs and did you consider any others(cobra s2 forged, AP-2 ect.) when you purchased?

I would suggest you search for MX-300, on the forum. Tons of posts to help you out. I own the 300's and tried the Diablo forged last weekend. Diablo was nice, but not as good as the 300. I tried them all when I bought the 300's. X22, AP2, Nike, TM, nothing could compare to the 300 in looks or feel for me.

Thanks for the comments. Just orderd the MX-300 4-Gap with KBS X-stiff. Supposed to be in next friday.

You will be VERY happy with the 300's! Very nice clubs. i opted for the MP57's....just like the look of them a bit more than the 300's.

You mentioned the Cobra S2 Forged. I think they are VERY under-rated clubs. I auditioned then A TON and came VERY close to going with them. I think they are ALMOST as good as the 300's. The only thing that I liked about the 300's over the S2's was the Mizzies are just a little softer feeling. For cavity backed forged clubs I would go MX300 #1, S2 Forged #1a and Diablo Forged 2....or 3. Nice club....but just not as good a look for me at address.....that's ALWAYS been my issue with Callaway irons.

I also had the S2 coming in a close second with the diablo 3rd. I wasen't thrilled about the look of the callaway nor the price although they had a nice feel. Not sure about the stock shaft. Anyway thanks for the input Kingface and I'll give an update asap.

MX-300s are awesome. I hit a set of these back in March at the Greater Madison Golf Show and theyre great. Im more of an MP player, but if I still were in the market for a set of MX irons, it would be a tough choice between the MX-200s and MX-300s.

I had to choose between Mp58, Mx300 and Titty Ap2 710 and in the end chose Titty AP2 710, because I couldn't test the Mx300 anywhere in my region.

Anyone who has tested Ap2 710 up against Mx300 - and in case you did, how did you like them ?

Liked the ap2 a little better, so I went with them too. Slightly more workable, looked nicer at address to me and the forgiveness difference wasn't too much of a difference.

I did hit the ap2 and love the overall look and at address. However I did notive a little less forgiveness than the mx-300. In the end I decided that I needed the extra forgiveness and the price also was a factor for me. It sure is hard to ignore the ap2 it's a fine looking stick, good luck with them.
