is installing rifle's different from TT?

So on a taper tip, how could it be any different, you just abraid the tip, glue it up and shove it in.



If you guys know something that I don't, I would really like to know, thanks in advance for the help.

The mechanics of securing a shaft to a head is relatively easy though from what I've seen, not foolproof.

 

With Rifles, they are particularly sensitive to insertion depth, Bottom Bore to Groundline Measure (BBGM) and final length. BBGM is simply total hosel length as measured from groundline to top of hosel in address position subtracting insertion depth. DG is less prone to these sensitivities as it has a softer butt profile.

 

If you use the Royal Treatment Rifle calculator, you can see how these parameters affect the flex of the shaft. In some cases you need to move a full flex either way to achieve the actual flex you want.

 

So if you 'shove it in', you may or may not get what you want. There is a full course for Certified Rifle Centers to learn this craft.

Clubmaking for me is simply a hobby that got out of hand. Now I have tax numbers, licenses, certifications, etc. Contributing here is helping me get back to my clubmaking roots - not $$$ but rather helping out fellow golfers and clubmakers in an often complicated and confusing pursuit.

 

Like many, I've learned alot from Joe K through the years. His base of skills and knowledge, especially of the high end equipment and techniques, is unmatched.

 

And I think banana does a great Riverdance.
