Pulling my putts to the right

I am using a TP Mills Soft Tail Putter. I do not know if the putter is causing this problem or if I changed my swing. When you pull putts to the right what does that indicate about your stance, swing etc.

What sort of stroke do you have? Straight back straight through, or arc style?

I think it is straight back. I am using a cross handed grip.

fyi it is actually pretty impossible to pull putts to the right unless you play from the wrong side of the ball -jk

If it's straight back, straight through, you're going from out to in through impact.

 

A couple of things to try:

 

1. Get two clubs and place them the width of a putter on the green towards a straight target about 5-10 feet away (so the shafts of the clubs look like a railroad track, obviously keep the heads away from target). Take the putter straight back and straight through along the shafts and make sure you're not coming out to in.

 

2. Go to Home Depot or Target and pick up a builder's chalk line like this:

Hit straight putts towards your target on the chalk line, that'll tell you for sure when you push / pull them. This drill helped my putting immensely.

BTW, you may want to consider switching to a face balanced putter, as they're better suited to a Pelz style putting stroke.

 

EDIT: If you're missing putts to the right, you are pushing them. The same drills hold true, you're just likely coming from in to out instead.
