Wow, you missed the best Iron ever. How could you forget the Callaway Tour Authentic X Prototypes? Greatest irons ever made. I will be gaming them forever!!!

Just recently had the pleasure of a demo session with these. They are wonderful, but, for me nothing feels like a Mizuno. The best of the bunch, IMHO, is still the MP-33.

MP-14's by far! They set the bar to which others are compared. I've hit most, and recently thought why bother. I went back and don't plan on leaving any time soon. "Spare" 3 sets in the garage.man_in_love.gif

Will you post some pics fo the MP14s please?

Probably just showing my age, but can someone fill me in on how one games irons?
Don't you all play this great game using clubs/ tools like the rest of us?

I mean we play the game of golf, not game the game of golf- is it a video game generation thing?
Really just trying to understand here.

If you count the mp32s as blades I would say they are the cream of the crop.

This x10000. I didn't enjoy my MP-30's as much as my current 32's. I couldn't hit them much higher and straighter and I'm playing some of the best golf in a long time.

Personally.....

I've always taken "gaming irons" to mean simply what club are your going to reach for when it really counts.

We all have multiple sets. Sets that we can reach for at any time. You might be flushing a new set of SGI irons, but in the end, you don't have the confidence that you do with your old and trusty set.

That is the case with me. I've gone through multiple sets over the last 10 years. But when there is something REALLY on the line, I reach for my 2003 Titleist 680.

I would consider those my "Gamers". The set I reach for when it counts.

Just a language thing.....I guess.

Why the lack of love for the MP37? They get my vote.

If you like chrome, the TP-19. If you like satin, the MS-203. I don't know that these two were original designs to Mizuno, as there were probably other prior/earlier blades that had the basic shape, but I think that Mizuno completely captured everything that is awesome about blades in these two almost identical models. I just recently found a set of very lightly used TP-19 heads and I wish I had two or three more sets of either, just for good measure. These irons are really not that hard to hit. They have enough weight low in the head to get the ball up, and the sweet spot is visually in exactly the right spot. I have years of time in with the 203, and I'm about convinced that I can't enjoy playing with anything else. The Ping i5s I bought new last year were a complete bust...same shaft setup and swingweight. Just never worked well in the bag, but the lie angle at red may still have been just a little upright. There is something about the long, deep hosel of those two Mizuno models that just feels right with the shaft setup I use.

i don't know never played blades, but i fell in love with the mizuno mp 33 when i first laid eyes on it 6 years ago. I had been playing golf for about a month, and took my first trip to the golf store. I walked in, looked around, and I found the mp 33s. I thought to myself these are what i need to be playing. To say the least its been 6 years, and i am still a 14 or 15 handicap. Saw a set of clean mp 33 at golf galaxy last weekend for 157, and almost bought them. I might sell my idea pros and just say to hell with it and start playing them. There is only one way to learn to play blades, and that is hitting them. Good move?
