I'm not sure why people are mentioning the Callaway X Protos. I assume that when we're talking about blades, we mean muscle back irons. While the Callaways are a fine club, they are really a new take on the cavity back, not a muscleback.

681 is the best in my book. Played these for a couple of years before I had to switch to lh. MP 14 is also great, the only Mizuno irons I've ever really liked. I 2nd the includion of the Muirfield 20th What a beautiful iron.

I'm playing the Titleist 710mb now. Great clubs that work really well for me, but definitely don't get my vote as the best.

Always liked old Wilson fg51 and hogan PCs , great looking clubs

feel wise mizuno are tough to beat, tp 11 and tp 19 pretty much as good as you can get

fg51 blk dots, amazing, and apex pc's perfect- equal to aussie blades blk dot, 29s 14s yadya, yada, ......

Still the best 681 w/TX 90 X, remarkable, boo's cg1 satins xl 100

Of those on your list:

(I wouldn't choose any of those shafts, but for argument sake I'd do S300/100)

I currently game the Miura TBs. Very workable, easily can dial in any flight/spin. I've tried 2 different sets of KBS Tours in em, but gave up on them. The KBS ain't all that and a bag of chips. After pulling out that junk I was fixin to put in a set of Apex 4s 'til I found Nippon 1150 Tours.

'05 TM TPs are nice, but nothing special. Still got a set with TC S3s, but prolly gonna get rid of em.

MP100s (if you can get over that top line), the 33/100s were the last of the good ones. Once they began screwin around with the muscle, they started to suck. S 300s in mine, better than KBS but that's about it. They are a very, very solid iron. I need to play them more, but they're 3rd behind the Redlines.

Of the other blades I have:

Hogan Redlines are the easiest to hit, they oughta be classified as CBs. I just like the Apex 4 shaft.

Apex II Cameos, have the most rewarding but most difficult sweet spot to hit.

Golden Ram Tour Grinds are the sexiest and coupled with the Brunswick FM 6.5 shafts......just a delight. Played my best golf with them back in the balata days. Why I still have a brand new set.

Of those on your list I once had/hit:

Vegas are absolute cannons, but not as workable. Scratch, look like Vegas, ok clubs.

Don't do the other OEMs on your list.

681 hoffman's ? have not hit the rams, or muira baby's- 681 leaps above the rest! hogan apex pc amf5, great clubs

Has anyone heard anything new on the USGA's ridiculous stance that the 681s need additional testing (except for the 6-iron...which is non-conforming...yeah)?

^*!

681 best of the best! USGA and that Idiot tim are useless- $9 Heiniken's $12 burgers and Finchem makes $6 million, nice!

WE know who is providing the cash for the charities!

I played mp-14s and then mp-33s starting in '03. I have loved them both, but I have to be honest and say that my Hogan Apex PCs (from '87 time frame) were the best irons I have ever hit in my life. I know many of you would probably disagree (as I haven't seen much on here about Apex PCs), but as we all know, this is a game of feel. Those PCs, in my opinion, were the absolute best. I wish I still had them.

MY favorite? MP 32. Easy to hit, workable, feel great, what more do you need?
[/quote]top 3 worst Mizuno ever made- try anything else, ie, 29 , 14, pro II, true, 57, 33, 37, 100, etc, 32 is their bottom feeder! Saw about 8 sets at Roger Dunn a few years ago for sale-

Well here is one for the thread...

The grinds on these fourteen's are on the top of my all time lists. I could write for hours about the grinds. The artistry of the lines. The unique grinds on the back side if the blade. The perfect size heel to toe. The feel etc. The finish is one for the ages. I will post a full gallery of these later...
