Need help picking a new shaft.

I currently play a Titleist 9.5 degree 907 D2 wth a Proforce V2 76 Gram stiff flex shaft.

I have a quick tempo but not strong enough to hit an x-stiff shaft I have a 105 mph swing speed.

I am a college golfer and hit the ball pretty consistantly I am a solid striker of the golf ball and feel as though I come into impact pretty hard.

The problem with the current driver is that I hit it too high and with alot of spin.

I am trying to hit the ball lower and with less spin so that it does not balloon anymore.

My miss is usually a high block to the right but my desired ball flight is a low draw.

I play all different course conditions and live in Ontario Canada but play collegiately in South Carolina.

I stand tall to the ball but I am only 5'5" and am 125 lbs my glove size is small as well.

If I had to pick someone that I swing like on tour I would have to say Brian Davis minus the head dip.

 

Any help on shaft and head combinations that could help me out would be greatly appreciated. I am a big Titleist guy but am open to all suggestions.

Do you have any launch angle / spin numbers?

If you like UST, you might give the Axivcore Red a shot. Should bring down the trajectory a bit and knock some spin off. If you need lower, everyone says the Axivcore Green is a good, low launch/spin shaft and fairly reasonably priced (I'd like to try a green myself).

I'm afraid I don't know much about your particular driver and its characteristics, so I can't give you any really great advice. Hopefully someone else may be able to. Good luck!

Well the 907 d2 is known as a higher spinning head, despite the V2 you have in there. The 907 d2 I had at 8.5 with the v2 spun way too much for me and I am a high spin player.

So you are launching it too high and with too much spin....I would suggest two things.

1. Get on a launch monitor and see what the driver/shaft combo is doing. There has to be something like that where you are. Maybe you have the ability to hit a couple of other drivers to see if there is a difference in the spin rates, etc.

2. Once you see what your set up is doing you can make an educated decision as to how you will move forward. Maybe it is the combo, maybe it is the head, maybe it is the shaft for your swing.

Without seeing your action or your launch data I really cannot see what the issue is with that set up.

I think that you should be able to hone in on that fairly easily, especially if you hit it pretty consistent.

If you are at college buddy then funds are tight, right? The cheapest crude fix is to try out some of your pals' drivers, plus maybe one or two drivers used by other golfers where you play. That should give you an idea as to what might work for you. Then maybe look for a sale bargain in that model. Be careful with eBay though as it is rife with counterfeit clubs which are worse than useless.

If pater is funding you well then yes see a professional club builder, get measured, and properly set up.
