Rescue Dual TP Questions

Easy to hit as......????
Good day everyone!!!

In the ongoing quest to fill the gaps between my driver (905 R 9.5* V2 stiff) and my 4 iron (695 cb's DGS300) What do you think about this idea???

I was hitting Sonartec md's (19* and 21*) and had mixed results. The 21 went as far as the 19* and never had predictable enough ball flight for me. So, they got benched, permanently.

Now, I have an older Rescude Mid TP 16* (fuji stiff) and was drilling it today as far as my 904 15* off the deck and almost as far off the tee....with much more accuracy.

I am getting my hands on a 14* and 16* dual TP with the Diamana Regular flex. The stiffer tip of the diamana....my pro suggested regular flex

If I bench the 3 wood, how much harder is the 14* to hit than the 16*??

Also, I am getting the 19* Dual TP too.....first in stiff, then will try regular.

Opinions???

I have a similar setup in my bag with the Rescue Dual TPs...16* & 19*...From what I have heard I would not suggest getting the Rescue Dual TP 14* as it is exteremly hard to get off the ground, but I guess with the right shaft it wouldn't be too tough. They are solid clubs but what I find troublesome with them is the weight ports in the back. It could just be me but I feel like they create drag, especially out of the rough, and the lower the loft the worse it gets. Demo them and hit a variety of shots with them I think you'll find a 16* will be more versatile than a 14*. Hope this helps.

THanks Grant,

I hit my pro's dual TP's today in wind and 50's (Minnesota, what do you expect, right??!!)

Liked them. Stiff Diamanas in them My thought is this, get a regular in the 16 for distance and accuracy, and get the stiff in the 19 for accuracy.

They were great. You can really go after them.

My thought is that I would go for the accuracy of the 16 over the length of the 3 wood. I saw that it only looked as if I got 10 more yards max off the tee from the 3 wood. BUT, i got the same distance and tons more accuracy from the fairway with the rescue.

That to me, gives me more opportunities to hit greens from far out instead of laying up since not sure if the 3 wood would be correctly hit.

thoughts on that???

Todd,

Depending on how high the ball will launch and fly into greens really determines how it wil react on a green when hit say 225+..Not saying this happens to all golfers, but hitting a 3 wood into a green may go farther, but thats because of the roll. A 3 wood won't sit as easily and a Rescue coming in from that distance.

What are your thoughts as to what hybrid degrees you would get? 14 & 19? or 16 & 19?

I'm playing in a tournament today with the 16 and 19..I'll let you know what I experience.

i have a rescue dual tp 19* and had a 14*. i got the 14* as an alternative to a 3-wood. i also tested some new fairway woods. off the deck, the 14* was very very easy to hit and had a slightly higher trajectory than a 3-wood. distance was about 5 - 10 yards shorter. it would hold greens really well. the down side was it wasn't as great off a tee. it was straight, but much shorter than a 3-wood (especially a nike t-60). i ended up going with the t-60 because off the fairway i was able to hit it pretty good (not as well as the tp 14*) but off the tee it was just long and straight.

if hitting from the fairway is important to you, the tp 14* is a great alternative. if off the tee is important to you, i would give it a shot, but believe you would have better results with a 3 wood.

I've played all kinds of combo's with my Dual TP's. I used to play a 14* in place of a 3w along with a 19*. However, I had it in my head that I needed to have a 3w in the bag, so I went back to the 3w along with the 19*. But, last Sunday I snapped the shaft of my R7 st 3w in my backswing, so I'm back to the 14*/19* combo. I had forgotten what a great set-up it was. The 14* is so much more versatile than a 3w. On some courses, I'll pull a wedge and play Dr, 3w, 16* & 22*.

However you go, the Dual TP's are awesome, it's just a matter of filling the right gaps. Comparing the 16* & 14*, the 16* is a bit easier to hit off the deck, with only a slight distance loss off the tee.

If your driver is consistently around 100 mph, stiff should be good. Personally I don't get why you would go regular in the 14*. When you are using it off the tee, you tend to swing harder, which could cause control issues if you are overpowering the shaft. Unless you have that much muscle control, that you actually slow down your swing with hope of gaining control and not losing distance.

I'd keep them the same. Just my thoughts though...

The tournament was great. I hit the 16* more than the 19*..

Now you're making me think that I should get a 3 wood also say something with 14 degrees of loft?

Maybe take out the 3 iron..? YIKES!

Driver, 3 wood, 16*, 19*, 4-PW, 52*, 56*
