Doc 15

I just traded for a Ping Doc 15 (center shafted) at GG this weekend. I've used it a couple of times at the practice green. It is really easy to line up and control the distance on putts of all lengths. I had recently been using the White Steel 2 ball blade. I was ok with it, but I found the face w/insert pretty inconsistant. Anyone using/have used one of these Pings?

I thought the 17 was way too big. I don't notice the 15 being all that different from the other large putters I've used in the past. (Futura, Macgregor, 2 ball, Hogan Hawk, Craz-e, etc) I think the center shafted version makes a difference. I can't wait to play a round with it.

I used the DOC 15 for a couple of rounds and to tell you the truth, I have not putted with a worse looking, worse feeling putter in my life. It was not good at all. It was so hard to line up because of the huge size. It was so big that if you couldnt see the line very well. The weight distribution didnt feel too good. It was not aa good putter for me. I have recently bought the white steel 2 ball mallet. UNBELIEVABLE>>IT IS AMAZING!!

I played my first round with it. I loved it. Long putts left "kick-in" seconds. I shot 81 which is pretty good for me.

I have a doc 12.5. It's firmly in the bag. It's super easy to line up and the thing is just steady.

You get the occasional comment like "look at the size of that thing" or "wow, that's weird looking", but the comments stop when the putts start dropping. I've even had people ask me to putt a few with it late in the round after seeing the way I putt with it.

i had a doc 15 for a few months....honeymoon was great....everything went in...but in the end i just couldnt get 12-20 footers to fall and it was hard to control in the wind...i just lost confidence in it

i have a pro platinium and can honestly say i have never putted as well in my life. feel distance judgement everything is PERFECT. i will never go back to the Doc sitting at home

Had one back in the day. Only problems I had with was it was hard to line up on hilly greens because of its size. Also had to send it in to,ping because face got pitted. Did make my share of putts with it though. Good luck.

I had a center shafted Doc 15 Orange Dot for about 6 months I still regret getting rid of it. Have not been able to find another one in good shape like it. I got rid of it because of the taunting I got from my playing partners but I putted ridiculous with it. Good luck with it don't let them taunt you to the point you get rid of it. Keep it if its still working.

So, I'm playing in an event today and on the putting green, I see two other players with Ping DOC 15's, one in a belly length and one in a counter-balanced length.

Turns out that I am paired with the guy using the counter-balanced DOC 15. He's not making any bombs, but he's getting it up & down every time he misses a green - mostly from inside 10 feet.

Meanwhile, I'm still getting used to mine and as luck would have it, I'm giving myself 30-40 footers on fast green with lots of undulations and tiers. I'm breaking my back to not three putt.

Seeing other guys do well with their DOC 15's gives me positive reinforcement and hope for future rounds!
