He's not switching sponsors. Vijay changes/experiments with drivers often in fact most of last year he used an R7

Maybe I'm last to know, but why would he switch after winning with the Hibore last week? Guess he wanted to increase the accuracy.

He's had a variety of TM Quads,R7's etc... in play before. Doesn't seem like a big deal.

Sam the pic above that I posted was from thursday...he was playing the cleveland launcher steel on june 15, 2006...thats thursday.

 

The picture you posted is from june 14, 2006. That was the practice round pictures.....so either way you cut it he was playing a cleveland in competition, only using the r7 in practice.

I don't want to go spreading rumours but a couple of friends of mine (european tour player, european tour OEM rep) have told me that Vijay was going to be paid an absolute fortune by Taylor Made if he put the R7 425TP in play.

 

In my opinion the guy is loaded thanks to his new renewed deal with Cleveland so he you wouldn't think he needed the money but it did get me thinking, why has he still got the RE-AX shaft in it. Maybe he just likes it?

 

They could be wrong but I thought i'd put it out there.

True the tour players aren't putting it in the bag because it goes to straight and is not very workable I guess.

Cleveland Tech Van was at my store the other day and I asked them about the pic. VJ has a thirteen club contract during TOURNAMENT play. That fourteenth odd club in the bag on weekends is a Callaway 5 wood, usually. They did say that during practice he tries just about everything.

Oh yeah, and the HiBore is not necessary for a lot of the tour guys b/c their spin rate is already way down. David Toms couldn't play it because he hit too high. High luanch, boreing trajectory is not good for everybody, i guess

I am sorry you are WRONG he is playing a cleveland driver look up top and you will see a post with Vijay with the Comp on Thursday ... He was playing they R7 425 in a practice round.... i know because i did the post
