Sure Titleist pays money, but they spread their money out over a larger group of players. They don't pay the huge money contracts though. That is why most guys leave Titleist. They don't want to have all of their money bunched into a couple of players. Usually Titleist will have the up and coming player, and when they make it big, Taylor Made, Callaway, or Nike (Tiger) will usually swoop in and offer them the big money contract to play their equipment. How many Titleist staffers do you see racing over to Bridgestone, Mizuno, or Ping??? Titleist also does not pay $5000 per tournament in "Tee Up" money to non-staffers to play their driver; just to lead the Darrell count each week. Just look at the guys that don't get paid to play Titleist equipment. #1 Balls, Woods, FW's, Irons, Wedges, Putters, at the US AM, US Mid-AM (#2 irons), NCAA, and US Boys Junior AM. Oh and by the way, my club count info is correct, and I do have inside information. :friends:

Ya it was good week for titliest but it was an even better week for COBRA a 1st and T6 for them is huge!

 

And I do know that they are under the same unbrella Achusnet.

I agree, great week for Cobra and Acushnet! Geoff had 9 Cobra clubs (Cobra Proto driver, Forged CB 2 iron, Forged MB Prototypes) in his bag and 5 Titleist clubs (906F2, Vokey 49/54/60, and Cameron putter). Cobra and Acushnet deserve a ton of credit for the tour staff they put togther for 2006! (and that's coming from a TM guy :friends:)
