I want lower ball flight

Lower loft or new shaft?
My ball flight is high and drops without any real roll. Im using a SuperTri 10.5 w/ stock Stiff shaft.

When I got fitted for the driver I was just getting back into golf and I didnt really have a reproducible swing. Now that im back into the swing of things I find my ball flight too high.

Should I just sell my supertri and go with a 9.5 or get a new shaft?

I thought the point of the all those TM drivers was that you could alter loft, lie and face angle, along w/ trajectory with the weights? I haven't played one, so I don't know how effective it is. I know you need a degree in club wrenching to know the settings but I think you can play around w/ your loft a bit. If you still get minimal roll then you have a pretty good idea that your shaft is spinning too much.

If that doesn't work I'd say go get fit again. Your loft might be correct, you may just be getting too much spin from the shaft...in that case all it would be is another shaft. The only way to know is to get fit again.

Regardless, R should be open and you are correct 2 degrees will make the effective loft 8.5. also if you get 8 gm weights and put them in the toe and heel slots along with a 1 gm weight in the rear port, that should decrease spin and lower launch a bit.

My setup: r9 460 10.5 (matrix ozik xcon5 regular or these days, matrix ozik hd6 stiff).

I had the perfect launch angle via Bridgestone ball fitting (with the high launch xcon 5)...the next day, I did the Bridgestone ball fitting at another location (but same peeps doing the test lol) my launch angles were too high.

Thought of buying a 9.5 head, too. The problem with my desired fct setting, neutral upright, additional loft is added to my 10.5 head. there is some info about in the forums about how much fct settings increase loft. thought that the low launch hd6 shaft would do the trick, but I still had high launch angles.

But alas, I realized that my downswing path and perhaps maintaining my lag a bit longer resulted in a lower launch angle. At the top of the swing, it almost seemed like I was aiming the butt toward my left foot would result in a lower launch angle. With the fct set to neutral for slightly lower launch angle and the tweaked swing, I find the ball not dropping out of the sky as much. The low launch hd6 probably reduced the angle a bit, too.

The fct setting means that I have to make sure that I have an inside to out swing, but this is better anyway, than an outside to in swing patched up with a draw enhancing fct setting, as the inside out is supposed to result in longer carry.

So maybe change the swing?

I'm hesitant to change up my swing because im getting good carry (260 ish) and really straight. I'd just like a bit of roll out.

As for inside out swing I'm unsure if I have that type of swing. I've heard about it but Im not sure of my swing path.

Put a headcover next to your ball (to the right of the ball if you are a righty) and hit some drives. If you hit the headcover before the ball then you are coming out to in, which will put a slice side spin on the ball and is what the draw weighting and closed faces try to correct. Generally you want a in to out swing or straight through since that is where power comes from. It doesn't have to be much, just a degree or two from the inside will give you a bit more distance. Take a look at the "inside approach", that also focuses on that in to out swing...that should tell you what type of swing you have.
