Four Wins & a Major for Titleist

MAJOR VICTORY FOR OGILVY, TITLEIST

Fairhaven, MA (June 19, 2006) - At the U.S. Open, where Winged Foot tested every aspect of a player's skill and demanded accuracy, consistency and a trust in their golf ball to do exactly what they need it to, Geoff Ogilvy proved he had nerves of steel and a game to match. Geoff was a portrait of mettle and determination winning his second event this year and first career major.

Trusting the consistent performance of his Titleist Pro V1x golf ball, Geoff topped a leaderboard that featured 12 Titleist golf ball players among the top 14 finishers and ties, including:

1. Geoff Ogilvy (Pro V1x)

T2. Player (Pro V1x)

5. Padraig Harrington (Pro V1x)

T6. Kenneth Ferrie (Pro V1x)

Nick O'Hern (Pro V1)

Vijay Singh (Pro V1x)

Steve Stricker (Pro V1)

Jeff Sluman (Pro V1)

Mike Weir (Pro V1x)

T12. Luke Donald (Pro V1x)

Ryuji Imada (Pro V1x)

Ian Poulter (Pro V1x)

Overall, more than 65 percent of the world-class field trusted Titleist golf balls, outnumbering the nearest competitor by a 101-21 margin.

The win is the 13th for Titleist golf ball players on the PGA Tour this season, more than all other competitors combined.

Titleist was also the choice of more players than any other brand in irons sets (32), approach, sand and lob wedges (112) and putters (54). Titleist Pro Titanium drivers (33) were a strong second.

In fact, the champion also relied upon a Titleist prototype PT 906F2 faiway metal (15.0), Vokey Design pitching (50), sand (54) and Spin Milled lob (60) wedges, and a Scotty Cameron by Titleist prototype putter.

PGA EUROPEAN TOUR: While the golfing world's eyes were focused on Ogilvy's dramatic victory at the U.S. Open, another Pro V1x player, Cesar Monasterio, earned his first PGA European Tour title by capturing the Saint-Omer Open. The 42-year-old Argentine closed with a 4-under 67 to finish with a total of 274, one shot ahead of two players, including Martin Maritz (Pro V1x) of South Africa. Pro V1x players Jean Hugo and Juan Parron tied for fourth at 276, as Titleist players occupied 4 of the top 5 positions on the leaderboard.

Titleist golf balls accounted for an overwhelming 92 percent of the field with 143 players, a whopping 24 times the nearest competitor with 6. The win is the 18th for Titleist golf ball players this year on the PGA European Tour, six times the nearest competitor with 3.

NATIONWIDE TOUR: Full-line Titleist staff player Hunter Haas (Pro V1, Pro Titanium 905R driver, Pro Trajectory 904F 4-wood, Forged 735.CM irons, Vokey Design Spin Milled approach, sand and lob wedges, Scotty Cameron Circa 62 putter) fired a final round 3-under 69 to win the Knoxville Open presented by Food City for the second time in three years. With all four rounds in the 60's, Haas finished the week at 19-under 269, five shots clear of fellow full-line Titleist player Parker McLachlin (Pro V1x, Pro Titanium 905T driver, Titleist 585 hybrid, Forged 690.CB irons, Vokey Design approach, sand and lob wedges) and Gary Christian (Pro V1x) as Titleist golf ball players swept the top three positions on the leaderboard. Haas posted just five bogeys in four days and finished inside the top 10 in fairways hit (T5), greens in regulation (T8) and putting (T10) en route to his second career Nationwide Tour title.

Titleist was the most played golf ball at the Knoxville Open by a 116 (74 percent) to 12 margin. Titleist was also the choice of more players than any other brand in the iron (43), wedge (138) and putter (65) categories.

The win is the 11th for Titleist golf ball players through the first 13 events on the 2006 Nationwide Tour.

CANADIAN TOUR: Lee Williamson (Pro V1x) held on for a one-stroke win at the Greater Vancouver Charity Classic. Williamson closed with an even-par 72 to finish at 8-under 280 for his second Canadian Tour victory this season. He won earlier this year at the California Classic.

Four more victories this week advanced the 2006 Titleist golf ball victory count to 76, more than five times the nearest competitor with 13.
