What to expect????

The title says it all.... I cut .75" off my Titleist 690.MBs and added tungsten powder down the shaft to make up for lost weight. I hated to put lead tape on the clubheads (yeah i know.... I'm one of those) so I went with the powder. It's actually really cool how heavy it is! My clubs were around D0 and I experimented and found out that I liked D3. So I went with it and they feel really good in the hands. I just cant wait to hit them!! Why I am posting is to ask what I can expect as far as the changes in the shaft flex by adding the powder.... I know there will be some change, but will it be major? I've been pulling the ball for a while now and I'm wondering if my swingweight has had anything to do with pulling the ball. I know my cutting down the irons will definately help. But does anyone know if swingweight can affect the flight of the ball.... Regardless... I'm very happy with my changes and I'm looking forward to playing with them tomorrow...

Lots of factors need to be consider and check to be able to give you an exact answer.

 

Base on the info that you've provided, my estimate calculation providing you use the same grip:

 

You need to adjust around 8 swing weight points = 16 grams, plus we don't know what inside already. So minimum is 16 gr ( 3/4" cut and add 3 sw to get it to D3 )

 

Depending where is the tungsten powder end up, for sure you'll change the CG to be higher and more toward the heel area ( approximately 10 gr = 1/8" ).

 

You will change the lie angle 1 1/2* flatter.

 

Result are depending on what your body built and swing needs. Proper fitting is important to give you a better answer.

Yeah... I added close to 21 grams for most every club with about a 1 gram -/+ tolerance and they all came out to right at D3. The other day I did not hit a single pull so that was good. I just need to have the lies and lofts checked now I believe. I can honestly say that I hit my irons the other day as well as I have in a while so I'm pleased with the outcome. Now if I could just get a loft and lie machine!!!! :yahoo: Any body got one for sale or one that they want to throw away....LOL???
