If you hit them both, I would bet the farm you will end up with the Bridgestone. I've owned both, but only one remains in my bag. Some guys like it, but from what I can tell, most people didn't have a positive experience with the 503H. You may be different though.

My personal experience was that the ball flight was exactly what I was looking for with the 503H, but it was about as forgiving as a blade 1 iron. I'm a solid ball striker, so I was pretty surprised that it ultimately didn't work out for me.

The Airmuscle is more forgiving with, in my opinion, pretty similar ball flight. You will probably appreciate the minimal offset in the Airmuscle. The 503H about a finger width of offset, which makes no sense in a non forgiving club.

I had the 503H for 1 week and sold it. I'm a 2 hcp and couldn't hit it. When I did hit it solid, it hooked like a mofo. With that said, I bought the Airmuscle and it's a great club. Very little offset and the head is forged so the feel is a little softer and you could adust the lie/loft a degree or two if you wanted to. I pulled the NV85 stiff shaft and replaced it with a NV85 X shaft and it's perfect for me now. I had a hard time hitting a fade with the S shaft.

I tried to like the 503.h for about six months (~6 hcp). Ultimately, I couldn't get over the offset and how unforgiving it is. I prefer an iron-like hybrid...and based on many recommendations here at golfWRX, I was looking to replace it with a 19* Airmuscle. I just couldn't find one to try out soon enough.

However, I did find a Callaway X-Tour 2-iron...tried it and absolutely loved it. In 3 or 4 weeks that club has become my go-to club off the tee for any tight par 4's <400 yards. If I were you, I'd throw the X-tour 2-iron into the short list of clubs you consider. I've never been able to hit a 2-iron. But compared to blades, the X-tour really feels like a hybrid.

Would like to see if the views on this has changed since it was posted. I've been playing 503.H hybrids for quite some time (I have the 19 degree and the 22 degree models) and just recently picked up an AirMuscle 3 iron/hybrid. I'm fairly certain the loft is 21 degrees. Wonder if this could replace both hybrids and allow me to add the 5th wedge? Thoughts?

wow, 3 year old thread revived

i had the 503H for a while and i would put my hatred for it on par with slow play and guys who yell "get in the hole"

low lofted club with high center of gravity...it was a terrific club for playing in hurricanes, or when faced with a 180yd putt

I guess I'm in the minority. I've had the 503h in the bagforquite some time now. It's 19d. and I hit it solid. Usually off the tee or light rough. Don't like it of a tight lie.

See, that's why I was wondering if the opinions had changed. I've played the 503.H for a few years now in both lofts. I like it because it's profile looks more similar to an iron than most. That's why I even began looking at the AirMuscle recently. I actually put a BIN OBO offer in on this one on fleabay and a 3 weeks later the guy accepts it. I had forgotten about it because I figured someone did the BIN price. I has hoping I could possibly supplant both hybrids from the bag with this on (my 22 deg 503.H is bent to 23 degrees, so this one splits the difference on both of them). I haven't really hit it much except 2 times through the back of my 2 acres behind my house. That's why I revived the thread, to see if anyone liked either any different now.

And I'm gonna revive a 10 year old thread. Referencing those who yell "get in the hole" either on TV or at my local municipal course every time a guy hits a tee shot at a par 3 or a long putt is beyond aggravating...like dude, I pushed a 7-iron 40 feet to the right and you're saying "get in the hole" for real, and yes, that happens.

I meant referencing "get in the hole" was hilarious due to how silly it is...
