This is a phenominal club. I just purchased the r7 st 15* from a member on this board. I went out and hit the vsteel 3 wood at a local golf shop and loved it. When i learned that r7 st was pretty much similar in looks, shape, and feel to the vsteel I considered that instead. The driving factor was the promo that TM has on for a free FW or hybrid with select purchases. Although I live in Canada and am not fortunate to be directly affected by this offer, I knew that some people would be trying to dump them off for cash after purchasing one of their drivers.

This club has an excellent feel. I usually have a hard time consistantly getting a 3 wood off of the fairway, but not with this one. The stock stiff shaft has a pretty good feel. Clubhead looks good, feels good, and the steel sounds good. This club is long. I hit my driver about 280-300 on average, but can take it 320 when I really catch it. I'm hitting the st 15* 260-270 off the tee with a little draw. I do not have the unfortuante problem of ballooning this club, as a lot of what seem to be better golfers complain about. I'd recommed this club to anybody, but like every club, it is best to get out and have a feel for it yourself before buying.

Picked up a 3 and 5 wood, as a Christmas present from the family. Loved them both... good feel, consisten numbers-wise, retail version seemed to fit the bill for me, as I do not try to get overly complicated with my shot selection with the longer clubs... I love the head size... I'm able to hit it equally well wether off the tee or the deck.

I ended up with the stock R flex shaft, but may switch those out depending on exactly what the call is on my next driver head/shaft combo... I didn't feel like I could really make a comfortable acceleration with these shafts like I could when I was playing with driver heads and shafts... in those regards, I'm leaning towards a Cleveland Comp 9.5 and Aldila NVS S in the driver, so I may swap the stock R for the NVS in a slightly heavier weight S flex...

Also may consider a GD YS6+, or Accuflex Evolution Light, both in heavier weights...

These clubs GO!!! Working the ball is as easy as ABC123. Great tragectory for me, quite a high launch. Only problem was the weighting system is factory set in draw, so if you want a neutral ball flight just change that around. I took out the 14g weight for my driver and put a 12g weight in as a replacement.

Warning - these balls have a climbing tragectory that can come down with snow on them. May hurt children and kill them troublesome goafers :drinks:

These woods are the best I have hit. To bad they are discontinuing them (non TP version). I cracked the face of my 5 wood, sent it back and just found out today that they are not available anymore so they are sending me a new burner 5 wood instead. They said the burner woods are taking there place.... I will buy another r7 ST and sell the burner because the r7 ST is too good!

In have both the r7 ST retail and the Tour Issue ST TP and they are unbelievable. Nice mid-depth face height that produces and nice high, piercing trajectory. The retail has a .350 tip so you can easily shim it a degree or two open. The tour issue is .335 and sets up incredibly. Very long and very easy to hit both.

Would you know if there are any identifing markins on the TP Tour where you could identify it without measuring the hosel? Maybe I'm confused as to how many there are.
1) TM TP ST Tour issue

2)TM TP ST

3)TM R7 ST

Reason I ask is that I just bought a 3-15* and 5-18* that are supposed to be tour issue, but I'm not able to measure hosel. They do have the Aldila VS PROTO 80-S (no "By YOU" ) and would like to authinticate when I recieve them if possible.

Thanks for help in advance

It's actually pretty easy. The ST version tat has a TP on the toe IS tour issue. The TP version was never released to the public. Also, it should NOT have any kind of serial number on the hosel. Finally, the shafts would say .350 if they were and by that you'd know the hosel diameter. Hope that helps.

That answers my question, thanks much. Just got the 2 clubs a little while ago. TP on toe, no serial number and Aldila VS Proto 80 S (no BY You). I have to admit, these things are quite something to look at. To cold and blustery to go out right now, but just swinging them, they feel great. Will get up a review as soon as I've got some range and play time in with them.

i always thought tour tm hybrids and fw woods have no serial, but is it possible the tour dept. in carlsbad can have a tour tm st 18* 5 wood that has serial # 6XXXX instead of no serials at all? I am interested in one and the seller is claiming he got it from the tour dept., yet it has retail serials; so is it possible to be tour and just a matter of knowing your source?

I have question. I bought a used R7 ST with serial #63KA2*** . Im just curious whether this is a tour or retail version. I bought it at a very reputable Pro Shop and Driving Range. It hits great on the range however I feel the true test of equipment is out on the course. Thought I would ask those of you who know more than I do about equipment.

I was disappointed with this club. The club is not bad-- my expectations were just too high. The club looks awesome, and I like the setup appearance. The Reax stock shaft is very bad. It wobbles during the swing (never liked TM stock shafts). Also, the feel is mediocre. Plain stainless steel, didn't have a pop at impact. I preferred the "neutral" setup (the heavier weight screw on the toe). Lastly, I really don't like the bulges on the sole made from the screw ports. It hinders with playability off the turf IMO. I'd like to try the R7 tp. It has a better sole design, and a hotter ti construction.
