is there a way to deepen grooves in my wedges?

i do have a litte club making experience, found this site and love it. i would like to start tinkering with my wedges any suggestions about grooves?

If they are raw, then you can do a few things at home. The club medic is more of a cleaning tool, but Golfsmith and golfworks sell a couple of tools that can actually cut the grooves. You want to be really careful doing this, because you can mess them up and/or make them non-conforming fairly quickly if you arent' careful. The GS tool has a v and box groove carbite/tungsten cutting blade that will remove metal and reshape and/or deepen the groove if that's what you want.

 

If you really want the max, there are places that will use a CNC machine to recut the grooves to the max USGA spec. I think Golfsmith charges $10 per head, which isn't bad. Raw wedges are nice in that they can be regrooved one, sometimes two times. With a chromed head, you don't want to do this with a cutting tool unless you're willing to allow for some rust, as you'll cut through the protective chrome in the process (or you can have the head rechromed).

A little bit off topic but can y-cutters grooves on the TM rac TP wedges be sharpened ( or deepened)with a tool like the Club Medic??? I'm looking to sharpen them since I've hit some crappy range balls with it.. I've lost some spin after 2 range sessions, my grooves are no more sharp...
