any truth to the rumors?

Has anyone any info on the replacement for the 905S, i believe it is called the 905M...? i'm wondering if this model does eventually get released if it will be worth waiting for, as so many more tour players played the K than E and T over the S. in any event, just wanted to see if anyone knew anything about this club?

I think the 905m is only a rumor. It was a prototype released on Tour and didn't have success. In the moment I think there is no 905m on Pga Tour or other tours. Looks like it will be a tour only prototype.

This has been discussed before. If you do a search you will see a couple different threads on this topic. At this point nobody has posted pictures or can name a player using it so I would say it is just a rumor.

I've heard of a proto called the 905 C which was a deeper faced version of the 905 R that DL3 was using for a few weeks, but never a M.

I don't know what it's called but rest assured, Titleist will come out with a 460cc version of the S or some deep face, low spin, neutral driver like the LFE, E, and S which were a counterpart to the JVS, K, and T. Titleist just likes to take their sweet time with things. I'd venture it'll be a March/April 07 release. Tileist never releases drivers after March/April. At least not lately going back to the J and LFE.

yeah, i think the rumor was that the C in 905C standed for composite, if anyone remembers there was a rumor the 905 Proto (now called R) was composite, but now we know it isn't so it was probably a rumor.

Titleist IS testing a few new 460's. Nothing on the Tour yet, but don't be too suprised if you see something in the fall from the Tour Dept. Most likely it will be a 460 version of the S, but as to the model letter designation I have no idea.

thanks for the responses ya'll. i think i'm going to wait on pulling the trigger on a new driver and see what/when the S replacement comes out and what it's about. that trigger finger gets itchy from time to time though... we'll see

I really have no idea on this, but thinking out loud...

 

Both the S and it's predecessor the E were fantastic drivers for the few players that they really fit, but they were dogs in the pro shops sales wise. We tended to sell far more of the larger, more forgiving drivers. The R head, along with it's wide variety of shaft types, seems to cover a wider spectrum in it's popularity. For my swing I hated the T, really liked the S, LOVE the R. If they could keep it to 1 head, perhaps it would be easier for both Titleist and the shops to handle inventory wise, and it would be less confusing to the consumer?

 

I hope this post made some sense, and like I say, I have no idea, they could come out with several heads as far as I know...

The LFE was not netural. It had a slight fade bias just like the JVS has a slight draw bias. The J was neutral.

I was in the van at the western open today and was told of a new driver that several players are playing and testing. It's not 460cc's it's only 425. I'm not sure what they are calling it. But from what they were saying, they are getting great feedback on it.

Titleist has a 425cc being played? were you able to finaggle any other info? i'm hoping for a deep face/slight fade bias or 1* open face from titleist similar to the R. is the move of these companies going to be to 425 instead of 460? are there advantages to that size?

The face was square from what they were telling me with a deeper face than the 905r. That's all they said.

Im curious how could that be? The R is the highest spinning of the three...did you drop loft and change shafts from the S combo you were playing?
