Titleist ProV1
I was looking through Ebay and I noticed that someone is willing to pay $61.00 for a dozen of ProV1's.. I looked through the description carefully to make sure it wasn't two dozens or something like that. Who in their right mind is going to pay $61 bucks for a dozen of ProV1's??? Go to your local golf shop man!!

You gotta love lazy people. I have one guy that always comes into my store asking us to order him stuff from golfsmith. We tell him that we have to do an upcharge and it would be cheaper for him to just order it from his computer. I sold him a CG10 Wedge last week for $180.00

Your business probably thanks god each and every day for customers like that guy. If I can't pick up a dozen of ProV1's for at least $3 less than what I can get them in the local golf shop, I won't even worry about bidding on them. I love the people that win a bid for some V1's at $38.00 but ignore the $10 shipping costs. Some people just absolutely amaze me!!

Also those were 2004 Pro V1's so $61 is not out of the ordinary as lots of people like the 2004 better than the 2005 model and you can't buy them anymore unless your local shop still has some extras around.

There is not that much difference between the 2004 and this years model with the pro v1. The only thing that I could tell was a little different was the feel on putts, the new model seemed just a TAD harder. But anyhow, that slight difference isn't worth $21 extra in my mind....

If you go to the sellers feedback, a comment was written by the guy who bought the balls for $61.00 that said something about his mistake so I'm guessing he got something wrong..I don't think he could be that oblivious.

Our pro shop sells them for 12.50 per sleeve, but all the golf shops around the area will have them for $39.99 per dozen. Retailers pay $36/dzn for ProV1's so when they are selling them at the $39.99 price point, they really aren't making that much on the product.

I'm pretty sure that cost is $26 for retailers, not $36.

We pay $36 a dozen for Titleist Pro V1/X golf balls.

I was looking through our catalogue and was surprised to see how high the cost was on a lot of the titleist product. Proshops that charge 12.50/sleeve are making $14/dzn which is decent; because the majority of the premium balls (HX•Tours, Nike Ones, etc.) have price points in the low 30's, selling them in the mid 40's makes sense (equivalent profit). A local shop in my area has a tent sale and when they have ProV1's on 'sale' and the price point is $38, people always ask if it can be discounted any further, but in reality, they are only making $2 on every dozen they sell, which is nothing in the grand scheme of things.

Paid $26/dz for 6 dz recently at the online Dicks pricing bungle (for the current model) but normally around here they are $42 I think. Somtimes the shop will run a deal like 3 dz/$110
