Ko'olau or Luana Hills

Playing them next Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday

Looking for opinions on Ko'olau versus Luana Hills. Playing them around noon on either Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday with my wife riding along for 10 anniversary present to me. From Colorado so looking only at these two courses for a jungle type golf course experience. Opinion of one versus the other and what the conditions might be like. Leaving tomorrow morning so hopefully I can get somem answers fast. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a ton.

Either are a difficult track. Koolau is a little longer. I personally wouldn't play either because I don't enjoy them, but they have beauty that I guess I take for granted living in Hawaii. I would say play Koolau as I think it is better golfwise and in its beauty. You won't be disappointed with the views of the lush vegitation. Remember, the general rule is that you will need the same amount of balls as your handicap. A lot of high handicappers may need more. Lots of long forced carries from the tee and on the second shots.

With either course, just enjoy Hawaii and don't worry about the score. Good luck and I hope you have a good time on your entire visit.

Agree with mauiatheart....I'd play Koolau any day over Luana. Both are nice..but Koolau is usually slightly better in condition. If you play Koolau...the trick even from the back tees, pick and choose the holes to use driver. Sometimes it's a whole lot easier to use 3 wood off the tee and go in with a longer iron. Probably save you a lot of balls considering it's your first time there.
