Has anyone ever encountered fake or knock off shafts?

First off let me say that this is purely hypothetical, and I have no knowledge of it actually happening. But, is it possible that people are producing and seling fake high end shafts? This is very common with watches. They are even selling fake packaging and straps. I know that there are Mamiya AXIV shafts being sold on ebay from Thailand, how could a person tell if the shaft was real?

I know there is a distributer in bangkok.I think the company that produces these owns ust.

So i would think he is just looking at ways to distribute the shafts,though i doubt if the shaft company would aprove of this method.

yes i have encountered fake high end shafts...extremely close in looks to the original ones...but not even close to the real deal...

i've seen fake speeder's in fake taylormade heads, and also fake diamanas in a few fake nike's...looks very close...so buyer beware...

That reminds me..... were the fake speeders that you saw .350 Tip? Because I got a R7 off ebay a while back and it was brand new with a 757 and it had a .350 tip..... Just wondering if it might have been fake.... To be honest though whether it was fake or not, I hit it really straight but it didn't go anywhere.

I kind of thought that. But when i heard the Taylormade with fake speeder thing.... It made me wonder. Also I got it brand new for really cheap.....

If it's too good to be true it usually is, especially on ebay. However, I got my AXIV-V on ebay very reasonably. I'm 99.9% sure it's genuine. I had it SST Pured and it tested almost perfect ( 97.7%).
