Anyone interested in joining Spanish Trail CC in Vegas?

I PM'ed Gxgolfer and he said this was fine to post.

 

Spanish Trail CC in Vegas currently has a pretty great deal for <35 year olds. Normally the membership requires a $15k initiation fee and $450 in monthly dues, but now is only $450 in monthly dues with no initiation, and only $275 monthly no initiation if you sign up with another member. I recently moved to Vegas and will be joining regardless by myself, but of course it would be great if someone else would go in with me so I can save $175 per month. We would both be fully privileged individual members; we just sign up together.

 

Spanish Trail does charge a $20 cart fee per 18. Everything else is included. Membership benefits include no green fees, unlimited use of practice facilities, use of the pool and tennis facilities, a locker with bag storage, access to the restaurants which are supposed to be great (haven't eaten there yet--no food minimums, btw) and other things I'm probably forgetting. The staff treats you very well there and the clubhouse/locker room/course is immaculate (the three 9 hole courses are actually closing on Tuesday for re-seeding).

This would seem like a good deal, but the $20 cart fee would add up, for me. If you play 4-5 times a week like I do, that's $320 to $400 a month more right? Can't afford $675 a month. Now, if you can walk, then that might be another story. Great deal for someone with a little more money though, I'm just a lowly golf course worker/soon to be pro...

that cart fee thing really does add up. When I first got to Vegas I was doing a similar thing, 250 a month and 15 cart fee. I had to get out of it at the earliest opportunity as it was killing me. Nice if you've got the cash, but no good on a military salary! Good luck with the search.

Yeah, the cart fee really is unfortunate. For me it's still a good deal as I only play a round maybe twice a week but use the range almost every day. And sorry sbguard9, but they won't let you walk--it was my first question as well.

I know this is an older post, but i just joined WRX and i live in Las Vegas, and have been interested in joining a club at a resonable rate. If anyone has a good recomendation that would be great.
