Reshafting

Where to start?

I've got a couple older iron sets I'd like to try my hand at reshafting. Any recommendations on where to start? I'm in Cincinnati, and wouldn't mind taking a class or two. Also, any book/video recommendations would be helpful.

What's the best place for equipment?

Golfsmith.com or Golfworks.com has a number of books on reshafting clubs that take you through the process from start to finish, they list the tools needed also. If you have a Golfsmith in your area they do run some classes also you will have to call and see. Either of these places have all the equiptment you will need and seem to have the best prices.

I live in Mason right by Kings Island, work at Cincinnati Golf Center on Columbia even closer to K.I. and I learned from hanging out @ FGI (FreeGolfInfo.com) golf forum and now do my own work along with work for friends. A lot of hobbyist club builders there along with Pros that are more than willing to help out. Patience is a virtue!

Golf works up in newark ohio offers 3 day classes on club building. I went there when i was a club works manager for golf galaxy.

On a side note, I grew up in the Mason area. Cut my teeth on the Grizzly and practice at CGC fairly often. Live down off Erie now but still practice and play up there.

I'm going to do the shafts this weekend and post a follow up on how they went.

You aren't that far from Newark and Golfworks. 2 hours maybe?
I used to live a few miles from Etters, off the Reagan Cross County highway. I'd forgot all about that place but he really new his stuff. There are also 2 Golfsmiths in Columbus that would be just an hour or so I'd guess.

I used to play that KI short course too. Saw the pro there one day giving a playing lesson and he asked me to join in with them. Watched him shoot 1 over with just 3 clubs!
