Titleist 910D2 & 910D3

CW, swoosh gave you ideas. Also, don't forget about the adjustability of the D2/D3 drivers, maybe with some tweaking, you can make the stick work well for you. Feel in my view is about as good as it could get.

djp, There are occasional deals in everything if you look in the right places. For example, I am considering a pair sale of 910 driver and 3FD with regular Kahli shafts. I don't really wish to seperate though. I have 2 each of both. Excessive I guess. ;) Or I may just keep for practice bag, or when I retire from stiff shafts.

What is the primary difference between the d2 and d3 minus the size of the head?

I am ready to love this...coming from the 905R...I find after buying the D2 9.5 degree with ahina 72, that my spin rate is 3800...should i have gone with a different shaft? approx 100-105 swing speed. I could lower the loft and look for a high launch low spin shaft option? I was thinking of putting my Aldila NV protoype 70-s shaft (from my 905R) into the 910 D3. I really like this club, just wondering if the ahina 72 is not the optimal choice.

thx

If you're producing 3800rpm with a 100-105 swing speed, your swing is at fault. You're almost certainly playing the ball too far back in your stance.

Back to Titleist after a Taylor Made, Adams attempt. Loving the 8.5 910 D3 with a Oban Devotion 7X. GREAT feel and wonderful ballflight. I haven't played with the loft lie yet but based on the one round I don't need to. Very happy.... Won the long drive in a scramble the 1st "on the course" ball I ever hit.

totally agree. no shaft is going to lower spin by 1000 RPM's, which is where you should be with 105SS. too steep of a swing. descending angle of attack. shallow out your swing and the spin will go down.

I've demoed the D3 a few times and I like it. Looks good, sounds good. Great shaft options.
I was playing with a guy that had a Bang-o-Matic and was putting the ball past him on most holes...even on mishits. When I have extra $ or they go on sale, that is the #1 on my list. Of course, there are new drivers coming out all the time...

I picked up a 910 D2 9.5 with a Tour AD DI 7X on eBay in July and this combo is awesome. My old driver is a 909 9.5 with Axivcore Green 7X which has a lower ball flight. I love the feel and sound of the 910 a little better but I think the biggest difference for me is the Tour AD DI which launches it high and long with low spin.

Although my setting is on the standard setting A1, it is nice to be able to easily swap out and try a new shaft.

Just picked up a 10.5 D3 with the real deal Kai'li stiff. Had demoed a 9.5 Titleist Kai'li and felt just a tad soft so I'm hoping the real deal will make the difference. If it hits half as good as it looks, I'll be happy.

Have had the D3 9.5* with the 'ahina 72 stiff shaft for a while now and all I can say Is WOW! Was previously a 10 marker but after three years of no golf whatsoever, from June 2010 I struggled all the way out to 20 with my main problem being off the tee. I had developed this towering fade that barely made 200m with my old driver( Nike SQ 9.5*)and hardly ever found the fairway. Therefore the 3wood and 2 hybrid became my "driver". With the majority of the rest of my game still somewhat resembling the golfer I used to be but struggling to break 90, I decided to try some new technology and demo a few drivers earlier this year. I tried the usual suspects and eventually gave the titleist D3 a whirl mainly because of a lower ball flight. Almost straight away I was peeling off the drives I remembered I could hit. I was never a long hitter but was pretty straight and the D3 instantly gave me this long penetrating flight, regularly landing them out near 250m. We fiddled with the settings a bit and actually settled on A1 mainly because I could control it more in all conditions. Since putting it in my bag I haven't been out of the 80's excepts for a few visits into the 70's. Just this Friday I had my best ever round, a 3 over 75 and followed it up on Saturday with a 79 to win my clubs monthly medal. My handicap has come down from 20 to 12 and after this weekend I could find myself in single figures. Not much else has changed in my game except for my ability to hit the fairway nearly everytime thus much easier approach shots. I love this club and highly recommend anyone get one in their bag as soon as possible.

For the people who are asking about the difference between the 2&3, my understanding(however limited) is that the d2 is a 460cc head with a slightly larger sweetspot and has a higher spin rate resulting in higher ball flight and my guy was of the opinion that it was more beneficial to higher handicap players trying to improve their game. The D3 has a smaller head although barely noticeable unless side by side, with a lower spin rate and therefore lower ball flight. My experience was that I did hit the D2 higher and it felt flush nearly every shot but I definitely hit the D3 further with its lower, more penetrating flight and to me it felt much more solid at impact and I can control it more. I'm sure there are more technical explanations out there.

The D3 has a smaller sweet spot than the SF. Off center hits on any club don't feel good. Also, the club is adjustable. How is that not forgiving? Just saying...
