Hi

I have Project X 5.5 in my irons since the beginning of the year, but it's causing me muscle pain in the right forearm.

Do the Steelfiber shaft in stiff really reduce the vibration vs Px ?

Thanks

Alex

I am planning to do the same thing in a set of 716 AP2's, going from PX 5.5 to SteelFiber i95 in R-flex. I've tested it and the feel/shock absorption is much improved.

I was fitted for PX 5.5 (beat out the steelfibers by a bit) but recently switched to the i95 regular to help with the pain in my left forearm. I love them.

Absolutely they do. IMHO they play very similar to the Pxi series, but with less vibration.

Planning to go with i95

Currently using Pxi 5.5 in s55 1/4inch longer D4+.

Was wondering which S or R? And

Will the bring the swing weight lighter(desired)?

Thanks

All subjective of course, but I would lean towards the R unless you are looking for something that's quite a bit stiffer than the 5.5.

From personal experience, I haven't had too many issues getting i95s to about D1-D2 with off the shelf tip weights at standard lengths. Above that, I have had to use other means(heavier heads, lead tape, etc). If you are playing +1/4, that should be a little easier to manage but I wouldn't think that hard to keep lighter.

Thanks Golfrnut.

Driver swing speed 98-100 never sure how far that goes

7 iron 150-155m/165-170 yards.

Should have given this info earlier.

Like maybe soft-stepping an S flex Stiffness looking for abt the same flex

Thanks again.

It going to come down to personal feel. I've tried both, and with swing speeds not far from yours, I can use both but I have to work too hard to get the S flex to hit the feel that I want. Your experience may be the same or completely different. That feel may match what you want, that's where the individual comes in. You may not like the SF profile at all. No way of saying just from swing speed which would be best for you.

Thanks again. Most likely go with R flex might hard step once.

I've got a slow smooth tempo. Long monkey arms.

Anyways I'm off golf for at least 6 weeks.

Tore my hammy pretending to be 35(actual 51) and rollerblading again.

Had the i95s in my Bridgestone J40s for just about a year now and very happy with the performance. Super stable shaft, great ball flight, great feedback and I like to feel the iron head thru my swing. I did have to do some serious lead taping to get the swingweights dialed in, otherwise no complaints here.

Wondering if i110cw at a inch longer will b too stiff for me? Any help? 6 iron carry is 185 to 190. Driver average 275

Swing speed is not really a good determining factor at all as it really does not give any reference to feel. SF play similar to the dynamic gold in their bend profile.

@igolf8 I didn't find them playing stiffer than what they are. In fact, I get slightly higher ball flight with the i95's in stiff flex (same as Sneds plays) than I did with Dynamic Gold S300's or Project X 6.0's. Much smoother feel and more distance with the i95's as well. They're not cheap, but worth every penny in my books. Hope that helps. Cheers!

I transitioned from S300s to the i95s and it was easy. No change in distance for me but launch angle went up. Spin seems pretty much the same, maybe a touch higher. Definitely less harsh feeling for my arthritic fingers. I don't have to take advil before every round anymore with the i95s.
