plus 2

Tour edge exotics (first gen 460 cc) 12 deg

Graph alloy speedcoat stiff (90-105 mph)

ย

I developed a rattle in the first one so justified auditions to replace it. I tried the xhot 2 and the TEE 6 - both adjustable. Put the same shaft in both. Couldn't hit it in my zip code with either one. Went back to Ebay and found another 12 deg. head for $50. My backup is an r7 460 11.5 deg. I agree with other posters- seems like the older stuff is easier for me to keep in play.

3.3 - Nike Vapor Flex 440 w/ Graphite Design Tour AD DI 7-S

ย

Obviously you like it since you game it,

But grabbed a vapor flex in the latest academy sale will be here Thursday. Why do you like the vapor flex so much? Hot? Forgiving?

hit it pure and it feels like you never hit anything at all ... oddly forgiving ... even if you mis-hit, it finds a way to roll forever

Titleist 913D2 with Grafalloy Blue 65 Stiff. Grafalloy Blue is a good shaft, low torque (2.8) and good mid trajectory. Just moved from a X to a S because I am getting old and creaky. So far, it is much better change. However, I have been eyeing the M1 and M2 a lot though. I hit with a Tour AD-DI and I was 10 yards longer.

I'm confused. After reading through 14 pages of posts (i burned out reading anymore), where are all the M1's, M2's and EPIC's? I get the impression from the message boards that everyone is running out to get the latest and greatest. I'm a 4 HC, and still play a 910D2, but was looking at a new M2 or Sub Zero. After reading some of the posts, I may go and dust off my 983K (or 983J) and get on a monitor...

I've tried almost everything out there. Last count I had 24 driver heads most tour issued and I play what hits fairways and helps me score. That seems to be older gear. I have both M series, 816dbd, 915 all 3heads etc. Play what works for you. I find the older stuff easier to hit and control.

ย

Humblebrag. Knock it off rookie.

ย

What's the point of having 24 driver heads?

I've come to the realization that most better players seem to find a club/s that work and get some longevity out of 'em. I know since my ho'ing began several years ago, my consistency has diminished somewhat.... Consistency and confidence in equipment is hard to find when most of it's less than a year old!

Currently tinkering with the new 2017 M1 440 playing at 10.5. Shafts are between the Tensei Orange V2 in a 70tx and Kuro Kage Proto in 70tx. Hoping to get on trackman Wednesday to test them against each other.

ย

Curious to hear your results. I finally tracked a 440 with my specs so it's on the way and I have an Orange v2 waiting to test with it.

Was rocking an r9 superdeep w/ stock aldila RIP x.

ย

Finally upgraded to a new one, GBB Epic, GD Tour AD TP 7x

ย

Picked up a superdeep for a song with the RIP alpha. Can't wait to try out the OG low spin driver.

ย

Other driver combos that have been tested with success are '16 M1 460 10.5 down two notches with RIP alpha 70, Nike Vapor Fly 10.5 with Diamana White 70, and R1 with GD AD DI 7s playing around 44.5". M1 is nasty long like I nickname it Monday because it's so long, NVF is about 12 yards shorter than M1 but more forgiving across the face, R1 is maybe as long as the Vapor Fly but with it being shorter in length, it's a short grass seeker.

Option 1
Ping G400 LST 8.5 Tour-X
Callaway Big Bertha 816 Alpha 16 AD-DI 8x black
Nike VR Pro 3 hybrid project x 6.0
Adams XTD Forged 4-PW Fujikura MCI 120S
Adams MB2 GW
Callaway Mac Daddy Forged 60
Toulon Garage Atlanta Black Pearl
Ping 4 Series Tour Edition White/ Bridgestone 2014 Tour Bag

Option 2
Taylormade 2016 M1 10.5 Whiteboard Flowerband 7x
16 Taylormade M1 5 wood AD-TP 7s
Ping Anser 20 stock stiff
Taylormade 2016 M2 Tour XP105 stiff
Cleveland RTX 2.0 52 deg raw
Titleist Vokey Prototype 58 T Grind

I think you'll like the superdeep -- it puts up #s very close to epics/m1's.

ย

Biggest performance difference is the forgiveness of the newer clubs....plus the GD TP is unreal
