I have gamed my 9* smooth for about 9 months and it is a very solid driver. It sets up nuetral and gives me a great deal of confidence over the ball. The Fujikura E fit on 360 stiff shaft feels and performs good for me but there is room for improvment, although i've never upgraded so it must be working good enough LOL. It feels as good as any driver i have ever swung, has a nice pear shaped head that is stylish and has nice lines to it. I really like the way it sounds alot its not too loud by any means or too low just a nice in the middle ping. It has a good amount of forgivness and toe or heel misses may miss the fairway but, not by much. I get good distance out of it but it really shines in the ballflight department with a nice trajectory and dead straight ballflight. When i put the right swing on it i can put a nice draw on the ball and a heck of a powerfade, which is my go to drive and it comes thru everytime. It really is hard to put a terrible swing on the ball with the smooth and i have found it can handle a hard swing and it doesnt balloon when i really go after it. Overall this driver does everything that i expect a driver to do and it looks, feels and sounds good while doing it, it is very underrated.

Wilson Smooth, 10.5/Fujikura E150 R2. I absolutely love the club- great feel, wonderful sound, and for me good control & distance. This replaced a Titleist 907Di with stock R shaft, and I noticed much better control with the same or longer distance. I'm pretty much the same as the prior post- a very happy owner. I wouldn't think of switching. Another small detail- nice zippered head cover. The big issue for this driver is that it says Wilson Staff- locally (so Cal), it just doesn't seem like the brand gets much attention. My golf buddies, however, don't pull the snob routine and a couple have actually asked to try it. The only gripe I have- the top edge of the face, where it mets the painted body, has chipped a bit. Blame me for skying one...

As someone who has played WS irons about 90 pct of my golfing life, I was very excited to get my hands on this driver. I had the 8* (I think, since it was year ago it might have been 9*) with the stiff stock Fit On. When I first had it on the driving range, I loved it. The ball exploded off the face, launched extremely high and seemed to fly forever. When I say extremely high, I mean, it launched higher than my 5 wood. What really led me to pass on it, however, was how hard it was to work the ball. I play a course with a lot of doglegs in both directions and if I can't move it either way, I'm doomed. I honestly would try anything to get it to do anything but fly straight with no luck. I know, I know, real problem that the ball flies long and straight. It just wasn't the right fit for me, but I would definitely suggest that someone try it out. Now that WS has its new line of DXI drivers out, I wouldn't hesitate to give one a try, especially if I could get the VooDoo in an X flex.

I finally got my swing together and now I can finally give this driver a fair review. I went to the range and hit it straight and long. Effortless distance for me. No sidespin on my drives, all straight. I have the regular stock shaft and it is maybe a bit too soft for me but it helps me keep my tempo. Looks great and sounds great too. Top driver for me and VERY cheap also. Way to go Wilson Staff!
