Biggest surprise in the newer forged line-up!! Just returned from my pro shop and a launch monitor session with the Pro. Went there to test CB2, MP53, JPX 800 pro. These are all solid irons and forgiving in most aspects. I was looking for the forged feel with forgiveness a consistent mid-launch ball flight and a bit of added distance. Get what won? The Cobra S2 Forged by a long shot!!! The line on the launch monitor hardly moved shot after shot...more distance than the others and responsive. When I hit it off-center I knew it, but it still gave me pretty good numbers...much better than the other 3. My pro did this just to test me...he thought that the shaft (Nippon 1130 Pro) would be right for me, but I was hell bent on the other 3 clubs. The purists and PGA followers on this site will turn up their nose at this, but it was the real deal. BTW, my ball speed was 4-5 MPH better than the others too. A close seconod was the JPX 800 Pro, but i can get the Cobra's for a lot less.

I hit this club this weekend while testing out a BUNCH of irons. I have to say, I was very surprised at this one. Stunned actually of how good it felt and how forgiving it was. I was striping them one after another and teetering on asking about them even though I was there to test a bunch of other irons. I guess that's why Cobra still has these available. These were NICE!

Which iron is the topline of these most similar to? Trying to work out if it would be a significant difference to tm tour burners?? Thanks

Cobra irons are under rated, compared to some of the others in forgings. But remember, the S2s are some of the last irons being made under the same roof as titleist. So no surprises that they are high quality. In fact my guess is they are able to do more radical stuff with cobra than on titliest.
The future of course ( now with Puma) is another matter altogether.
