Very true Kevin even though 11 and 17 are close in yardage they play drastically different in club selection for me

Agreed... 11 is usually a easy 7 iron, and 17 is a stepped on 5 iron. also I can see the shot on 11 and only God knows where the ball lands on 17.
Bottom line is Southern dunes is my favorite course in the valley.

Funny thing is when I played there a couple of weeks ago the wind must have been blowing in a different direction to usual- I hit 7w on 11 and then hit a huge 7i down wind on 17!

I also played 7i on 4 and a 4w on 6 for those curious!!

Thoroughly enjoyed the place and look forward to getting back there hopefully on a less windy day!!

My claim to fame about southern dunes is the last time I played it I played the par 3's at 2 under, I have also birdied 17 my last 3 rounds. 17 just sets up so perfect for me, of course it helped the pin was the mid left location each time
