Pentas reduced to $39.99

is this permanent?

I saw that the Pentas have been reduced to $39.99. Does anyone know if this is permanent or if TM is going to release a 2nd generation Penta (aka new packaging) and needs to deplete the current inventory?

A reduced price means new balls are coming...probably with a softer cover to generate more spin around the greens.

Just a seasonal sale.. They went down lower than that last year a few times.

They've repackaged a few of them in white boxes for the R11, but I think thats just for now atleast.

The black packaging (2010) and the new white packaging (2011) are being offered at $39.99 at Dicks. With their $15 off per $50 spent certificate, the Pentas are almost as responably priced as the Srixon Z-Stars.

It is a great time to play a premium ball!

Why buy Pro V1s at $45/box when you can get Pentas and ZStars at $20-25/box?

Same here. As soon as TM took them off price protection last summer, my store dropped them to 39.99. They also have new ProV's for the same price.

I recieved a box of those for my birthday. They are numbered 5, 7, 9, 11. I was told they represent the R series driver history

Local Golfsmith has Penta for $37 a dozen, so bought few dozen. Oddly, numbers all go 1, 2, 3, 5 no #4 ball in any of them. Never paid much attention to numbers before, has Penta always not had #4 ball?

I just got a free dozen Penta's for signing up for club near me. I tried to get some Blacks or (2)Burners from them instead as Penta's for me are about as useful as a 12-year old getting a new Ferrari. I am thinking of selling them but may just put them on shelf for future when I can at least stop losing balls so much. TaylorMade is really marketing these things hard to be giving out free dozens.

Which pretty much proves the point some of have made in here. That being, that balls cost close to the same to manufacture, they are just marketed toward different income and playing levels to increase Brand Sales.
