The best irons I have hit. I have a mixed set with these in 6-pw and 3-5 in MC. These irons are absolutely perfect. Feel, sound, trajectory. I highly recommend them.

Pros: The first thing I did with these irons was check the lofts, lies, and legths. And the good news is they were all spot on perfect, which is rare. The grips were on perfectly straight also. The two best things about these irons are that they look perfect at setup and feel wonderful!

Cons: If I had to be perfectly honest, I may have made a mistake. I should have ordered the MC's in the 3,4,and 5 iron. Obviouisly these are blades therefore they are not super forgiving.

Bottom Line: The bottom line for me is that these are a beautiful set of irons. I played 300's for many years because they were a great feeling iron. I am very happy that TaylorMade has once again built a forged iron because these MB's feel like butter on a well struck shot!

Look: To me, this is a great looking set of irons. I really like the slightly rounded toe. They have a very classic topline and leading edge. Some people were concerned or have commented on the weight in the back. But to me it looks cool, and if it helps them to swing weight the irons perfectly whats the big deal? And its not like you can see the weight at address anyways.

Performance: Prior to this set I have been playing R9 TP's. The MB's give me a slightly lower,more penetarting ball flight which is nice. I like to play a little bit old school by shaping my ball. I like to hit fades and draws, and it is very easy to hit all the shots with these irons.

Feel: Once again I am happy that TaylorMade has chosen to produce a forged iron again. To me a forged iron feels a bit better and these feel like butter with a well struck shot. These feel as good as my TM 300 Miura forged irons, and I am not kidding. I am not sure which forging house produced these but they did a great job.

Bottom Line: I would like to once again state the obvious that these are blades. They are not game imporvement irons, but they are a great performing set that help to produce your desired shot. Meaning that they are easy to work the ball with. I really do like these irons and they will be knocking my R9 TP's out of the bag. I think I may have to order the 3, 4, and 5 MC. I would feel comfortable highly recommending these irons to any of my students that are looking for a classic forged blade. They will not be disappointed because they look, feel, and perform great!

hey i was wondering the difference in size from the mc to mb i dont know weather to get the full set in mc or go half and half

I just got a set of 4-PW Taylormade TP MB heads and installed S300 shafts hard stepped 1X and I'm in love. I've played many forged clubs over the past 35 years (~15 sets) and these by far are the softest feeling. I thought my MP-33s were buttery but the TP MBs put them to shame. In my opinion there is always at least 1 iron in each set that look a little "off" at address but every single MB looks perfect to me. I bought a set of the TP MCs with KBS tour shafts and only hit them at the range once then sold them. They felt dead as can be and that might have been because of the KBS shafts and I couldn't work the ball at all. The look of the MCs were quite a bit chunkier than the MBs as well. If you are a fan of soft blades, do yourself a favor and give these MBs a look because you won't be disappointed.

Initially, I didn't know what to expect of these TaylorMade TP irons. I ordered the 8,9 & P in MB, 6 & 7 in MC and 4 & 5 in CB for my set.

After about 20 rounds, I have ordered 7, 6 & 5 in MB also. I've dumped the #4 CB for a Rescue 2011 #4, set on 22*.

Bottom line, [b]I LOVE the MB's[/b] and can play them with [b]"NO LACK OF CONFIDENCE"[/b] from the #5 iron through PW. [i]In fact, I feel more confident looking at the MB's.[/i]

Looking at the MC's and CB's makes me realize how much better the MB fits my eye.

BTW, I ordered the DGXPS300 shaft (110g) in all of the above irons and they feel great, also!

dbleag - I have just ordered 5-PW in the MBs, and an R11 Rescue #4 as well.

How do you find the yardage gap from the 5 iron to the Rescue #4? Similar to a 4 iron, or a bigger gap?

So, I've had my MB's for 3 rounds now. I must say, these are by far the best irons I have owned. So easy to change trajectory with these irons as compared to my Titleist DCI's that I just got rid of. Honestly, I was a little worried about the longer irons before I got my set. However, after a few trips to the range I don't find them nearly as difficult to hit as I had anticipated. They are relatively forgiving for a "blade" iron. It is much easier to work the ball left and right as well. Frankly, I wouldn't say they are difficult to hit at all. I am very happy with my purchase.

I have played the 2014 version for about a season and I can't say enough good things about them! They look great, feel great, and perform great. They're the first set of MBs I've played and I don't think I'll be going back to CBs anytime soon.

I just replaced the mb/mc set I used for the past two years and hit an extra clubs distance out of the 790. But it’s always cool to hit the club Dustin does. But I’ll take the distance.
