Pretty Decent Par3 or executive courses

need some options
My company is going to be donating a good amount of $$$ to charity this year probably split up into 4 or 5 different organizations and I was lucky enough to be on the committee that organizes where the money is going. I had an Idea to have golf Scramble at a local executive course or a par 3 course preferably 9 holes to raise additional money to give to an organization. I play a lot of golf but stay away from the executive courses and par 3's any help would be great looking for one that is usually in great shape and costs less then $25 a person when booking for 75-80 people thanks!

also any one that may be interested in playing in the tournament is more then welcome. This will be open to the public so we can raise as much $$ as possible. Thanks!

What time of year is this shindig planned? Are you particular to any side of town?

A pretty nicely conditioned 18-hole executive that often host's the AGA Short Course Championship is Mountain Shadows. Probably wont be $25 in high season however.

I like Ahwatukee Lakes, less expensive than above, but not as well conditioned.

Augusta Ranch and Sunlakes Ironwood are both decent executive layouts. (Southeast Valley)

Somebody told me last night that their is a Par 3 course at Moon valley... I've never seen it but I was told its pretty nice. If your affiliated with PING... its a slam dunk to set it up, it is the Solheims home course.

Unless it has changed since October, the course was dry and sandy and looked like it had been pretty much ignored all summer- not worth the $15 or whatever they want.

One that may be worth looking at is the par 3 course at Aguila. Its like 8 bucks to play- holes between 70 and 180 yards. Good shape for the price. Couple of 2 tiered greens to keep it interesting!

Ironwood in Chandler is one of the nicest short courses in the valley. You could play a tee box up if you want. Condition is always great. But it is a full 18.

Depending on what time of year, why not check out Ocotillo. They have 27 holes and you could get one of the nines booked out for that price. Just play from the front boxes.

Also Oakwood in Chandler has 3 nines that may be an option as well.

 • 2 weeks later...

so stupid...I got an email notification from Ahwatukee on thursday(3/31) for the short course championship on sat (4-2). So incredibly lame, as the format wouldve been perfect for our event. I called them and told them that they lost out from an additional 10-20 players because they wait to notify members of events until the day before. FWIW, if anyone is interested, there is an event coming up soon thats $125 to enter, but has $12,000 cash to split for winners.

I'm quitting the cc this month, so if we are gonna do an event, it has to be this month or I lose the hook-up to set it up without players having to paypal me to reserve a tee time haha.
