I'm in the same boat as you, Chippie. I'm eager to read some replies. I'm a 1 handicap that's been playing for 20+ years. Would prefer a private or semi private club with a younger membership who enjoy cocktails more than golf. Tennis is a must, too. PM me if anybody has good info for me. Thanks.

I would love to join a golf group. I live in Spring just off of Kuykendahl and Louetta.
Ive been playing 6 years and have a handicap around 16
I would also like to join Public Development program

You guys can also check the World Golfers Amateur Tour (WGAT). I played it last year and it was quite fun. A good friend of mine won his flight (hdcp 21+), went to Indiana to play the 3-day National Championship and won there and ended up being part of the WGAT Team USA and went to South Africa for a week, all expenses paid, stayed at a 5-star resort, got personalized uniforms and a very nice staff bag plus 6 days of golf (2 practice rounds, 4 tournament rounds).

There is a player development program (PDP) membership available at Windrose. If you typically go to the range a few times a month, at $40 a month its actually a really good deal if for nothing else but the unlimited use of range. The pro does some daily clinics (they only last about 15min) which you may or may not find useful. The course itself isnt too bad and is usually in descent shape. The PDP membership really works out nice during daylight savings time when you can play for $18 after 2:00 and $12 after 4:00. There are a couple other Wrx'ers I know of that are members up there. You might want to check it out!

I'm a PDP at their sister course, Oakhurst, great deal for a cpl times a week at the range and some afternoon play, most of the courses around here have a PDP, actually thinking about changing it to Tour 18 as a few of my buddies play out there quite a bit, they go alittle farther with their program and offer their PDP members "special T-times" on regular times on both weekdays and weekends (probably just a couple they can't fill, normally email them to you a day or tow before, before for $20-$25, they are a great deal).
