Instructors in N. Houston

The instructor that I have used has moved to Royal Oaks. Anyone have any opinions on Golf Tec, Massengale or Swanson? My last lessons were in 2009 and it is time for a tune up. Any other good instructors North of the Beltway?

Check out Peter Vorster at Swanson Golf. I think he is one of the best instructors at Swanson.

I've been taking lessons at golftec for about a month. I would strongly recommend them.

I'm pretty sure I was once a student of the instructor you mentioned. I've tried a number of the top instructors in Houston. I have found Donnie Massengale to the best. Next week he and I are on the course together (again) for him to see how I play golf, not just how I hit a golf ball. I highly recommend him. His father won multiple times on the PGA TOUR and Champions Tour. Donnie grew up watching, first hand, his father and others learn from Harvery Penick, Claude Harmon, Dick Harmon, etc. Donnie has also been a student of some of these teachers. He really knows how to teach golf. Not just the golf swing. You can tell him the little old redhead sent you.

If I had to give a second choice, I'd say Troy Schleicher at Swanson's School of Golf. Troy knows his stuff and communicates it well.

Thanks for the input. Im leaning towards Massengale over Swanson Golf Center.

While we are throwing out names, I was a huge fan and played some of my best golf under Jim Phenicie. My first lesson with him, he made me wear the K Vest and after 5 swings, I took it off and asked him to fix my flaws and I was not interested in all the data that was being spit out. After that, he would videotape my swing and play it back on V1 with areas to fix. This was much more beneficial to me.
