Houston WRX Outing?

Preliminary Planning Thread

We seem to be a bit snake bit. Four outings in a row have either been delayed by weather or plain old bad luck.

Now that we've found our "new home," I think things will work out much better! :help:

I was thinking sometime in late September? Perhaps the 23rd or 19th?

Any ideas on venues? All I'm good for is Greatwood, but I doubt anyone wants to play out there . . .

Perhaps we take another run at Black Horse with Cypress's favorite son? That seems like a semi-central locale.

Any other suggestions?

Just to get the juices flowing, Gxgolfer has kindly donated five GolfWRX "Texas Flag Edition" headcovers to be raffled off at the outting, so we've already got one great raffle item down.

Maybe we won't be snake bit by the rain since we've moved our little group over here. Good Karma.

 

I should have us a date by Monday. I am thinking that I may negotiate a price with BH and ask everyone who is coming to pay up front - much like a tournament. That way I won't be out on a limb when Thursday hits and everyone starts dropping like flies. If there are enough commitments we may be able to do a buffet and have tournament style scoring by the staff. BH would appreciate having a good number who has paid so that the other tee times aren't dropped last minute. 30 commitments 7 days before the outing and 12 showing up just will not work.

 

Any other thoughts other than this ---> :help: ??

Well, our match today was canceled, but talked with Gerald a bit....he's got a whole new bag again....for 2 days now....srixon irons and some new driver with a 757 (i tried to bring him over to the vs proto side though)

I was lucky enough to find a wedding group with 12 guys to fill most of the spots we vacated, otherwise I'd have probably been out some money since they blocked off so many times for us that didn't open up until right before the weekend.

I turned in the old two weeks. I had to make a stand to back up one of my employees and one of the owners didn't like it. You guys know if there is one thing about me often times I am to honest and I was not going to let anyone, even an owner, blame my employees for screwing something up.

 

Funny thing is that they are very shorthanded so they really can't afford for me to leave. My 5 day vacation was almost crippling the company.

hey guys! won first place consolation bracket (lost very first match last weekend) in the club championship... :cheesy:

 

had 3rd & 4th rounds on sunday, won both of them (thanks to the 7 wood that was a gift) with a weather delay in between. tired as hell cause haven't played that much golf in a long time. $150 store credit....ping vantage here i come?
