We had a meeting at FT.Bend CC last night. It has been discovered that we were set up as a non-profit club in 1952.

 

What this means is : we have to hire a lawyer to see if we can change this, so if we sell the property, we can get the proceeds.

 

Otherwise as a non-profit club, the proceeds would have to be donated to charity. that would suck for the members that are expecting a big payday.

 

Everything is up in the air pending a legal decision.

My only bad dates are 9/23 and 9/24. We have the Ryder Cup at Fort Bend National.

These weekends are bad for me:

 

Sept. 16-17, 30-Oct. 1, Oct. 14-15... Again. I work every other weekend for the forseeable future, next weekend being an off week.

The final death knell to Ft. Bend CC is still a ways off. Lawyers have to be involved etc...

Yes, I am off that weekend. However, the 8th is my birthday and my wife told me the other day "don't make any plans the weekend of your birthday," and that's all I know at this point. I'll bring it up again and see what the reply is :cheesy:.... Could be a weekend trip somewhere which rules me out completely, or could be something we'll do here in town, which leaves a little window of opportunity. Key word being little.

Haven't touched a club in almost 3 weeks now! I may have sold my Miuras too early (couldn't resist), need to hunt for another set of irons now...may go with the "old" X-Tours if I can find a set.

 

Pick whatever date fits everyone better, I am a crappy player anyways and need strokes from Todd with his hole-in-one 4 iron from 250 yards or so... :cheesy:

Geez...what a sandbagger---I'm not certified to teach golf like Tony is.....doesn't that make him a pro-fessional???

 

And for the "record", it was a feathered 6-iron from 267 yards.....had to choke up and inch. :D

 

Count me in Drew....for the golf, not for touching Tony's hot stick. :D

I've got a set of i5's for sale :D

 

My bag is almost all Cleveland now. I found a set of brand new CG1s with X100 and a Tour Comp 460 660TR for cheap. Those blades just look so damn good.

 

I have been playing the DSG 588's for a while and don't see changing anytime soon. That grind fits me perfectly.

How could you change wedges after you screwed me over on the par 3? Just to let everyone know, he holes out after dunking his first shot in the water.....and wins the hole..... :cheesy:

I played ok with them at Timber Creek and they did well in Colorado, Lubbock, and Dallas.

Playing at Blackhorse, as good a public facility as we have in Texas, I would love to see some of our friends from other parts of the state come play. If we have guys in Austin they should come since it's a par 5 from Austin to Blackhorse.

OK, the outing is scheduled for October 7th. I will make a few tee times for that morning and start adding you guys to a list.

 

Depending on how big the outing is, Blackhorse may not require any payment up front. I'll check on that tomorrow.

 

The first post will be updated with the list of players.
