Just started, good place for lessons

I have started golfing for about 5 months now, just finish jv in ilh, did not so great, but not so bad. I am looking to improve, anyone know any good golf schools, I have taken a couple lessons at ko'olau, but am interested in something else. I would also like to keep my wallet fat. any suggestions?

You might consider Golf Tec for lessons- definitely on the pricey side but a viable option (based on hearsay). Try calling a few different clubs in your area and ask to talk to the golf pro- explain what you want and get details on any programs the course offers. I've had a few good lessons and a mediocre lessons from different instructors. Find who you like at a good location and go from there.

My friend who plays for a D1 college takes lessons from Lance Suzuki at Olomana, but idk how open he is for lessons

I've taken many lesson's from Joe Fujimoto at Pro am, he's really good if you need another set of eyes, or having trouble fixing something. He always has some type of quick drill to get you back on your groove. Not over technical at all, he works a lot on feel.


I've recently taken a lesson from Wade Nishimoto at Aloha Golf Center, he specializes in Stack and Tilt, consistent swing bottom, ball first contact at impact, not overly technical, but more so than your average instructor. Probably learned more from him in one lesson than I have from any instructor.

Wade has a very good eye for the swing. Wade's background in S&T is directly from learning from Plummer and Bennett. BUT...don't be afraid of him just because you're not a S&T guy. He will not change your swing from what you're currently doing and put you in a S&T unless you want to. As I said, Wade has a very good eye and will quickly point out a flaw in your current swing and help to correct you with simple explanations and movements. He's very patient and giving of his knowledge. Two things I find very important in an instructor.

At the same location is Joey Tadeo. I think many of us on the forum have hit balls with Joey and he's also very patient and will help you with an easy explanation or practice drill. I know personally that many of this teachings have helped me too.
