Sonartec Golf officially released the new SS-07 line of fairway woods at the PGA Fall Expo in San Diego. The new product line will be ready for shipment Aug. 20.

The SS-07 custom fitting system was tested on the PGA Tour for a full year prior to this summer's release.

 

The SS-07 ClubFit Series will give a select number of club fitters the opportunity to receive SS-07 component heads. For the first time, professional club fitters have access to a high-end, Tour-proven club head made expressly for the club fitter market.

 

"Usually, a club fitter has to pull the shafts to have a premium club head at their disposal," said Sonartec Director of Sales Bob Gotfredson. "The combination of this premium Tour-proven club head with an exotic shaft will produce very attractive margins for our club fitting partners."

 

"We are looking for 125 to 175 of the best club fitters to be a part of this program," said Gotfredson. "There is an application process with specific requirements that must be met in order to qualify for the ClubFit Series. With swing analyzers and precision fitting being the wave of the future, we feel this is the perfect time to introduce the SS-07 program."

The SS-07 is available in 3, 4, 5, and 7 woods. Its face depth is between that of the SS-02 and SS-03 fairway wood models that Sonartec currently offers. Retail prices for the SS-07 will vary depending on the shaft chosen by the club fitter, but the SS-07 should sell for between $300 and $400.

The SS-07, by far, has been the best fairway would I have personally ever hit. The trajectory is penetrating and the club head makes it easy to workt he ball. I give this club two thumbs up and will never hit another fairway without a sonartec name on it.

Same for me. I just purchase my second one. I have a 14* with an x-flex UST I Rod (think it's tour only flex) and a nice smooth swing goes 245. You can hit it high if you want, low, cut, draw and they all feel wonderful.

I love my Sonartec ss-07s but the one thing that I would change is the slightly pingy sound/feel at impact. I lke the solid feel of the old Mizuno forged Fairways, whilst preferring the headshape, general playability of the SS-07s

SS-07s are awesome. I have a 14 Degree, fitted with a Pured Proforce 65, S Flex. This is my 'Boomer' 3 Wood combo which I just love as a driver back-up as I can work the ball with it off the tee and get myself out of some pretty nasty situations off the deck when I need to cover big distances. The head oozes playability, it is compact, squat, and solid. I have a 19 degree with a Pured Proforce FW R Flex.. This is my 'Control' club. It is wonderfully accurate and comes in handy when I need to thread the ball accurately to small targets. I was very pleased to discover these fairways. They have a lovely 'classic' look and feel.

Not too many people know about sonartec. I discovered them through a friend and was very amazed when he let me try his ss-07 3 wood. I bought it from him in an instant and to this day he regrets selling it to me. The classic look with a small head for workability makes this 3 wood a must have. Try one out if you can get your hand on one, you will fall in love.

My wife and I both hit different model Sonartec 3W.

I was at a major manufacturer's fitting center a while back and after the session he asked what 3W I hit. When I said Sonartec, he said we don't have anything better than that.

Perhaps I misunderstood ,,, I thought Sonartec were no longer in business ? ,,, I have a Sonnertec hybrid that is my 185 yd. club ,,, no question whatsoever it's the best club in my bag. I also have a # 3 and 4 Sonnertec hybrid ,, sure wish I could find more.
