Beach & Golf

Looking to go on a Vacation with a friend either NC or Virginia Beach. Looking to play some golf and go to the beach in NC. Where are some nice but not super expensive places to play that are in a reasonable price range and are near beaches ?

We are also College Students

virginia beach is pretty expensive. Your best bet would be to just head down to Myrtle for prices and golf

Yea just take it down to Myrtle. Im from the VA Beach area. Better golf down in Myrtle than VA Beach.

Myrtle will be a farther trip, but the golf will be better. I go to ocean isle beach to play all the time, there are some real good courses down there. Oib is more family friendly though, if you want more of a nightlife I would say Myrtle or wrightsville beach. If you do oib(which is 45 min north of Myrtle), I would recommend leopards chase, the thistle, glen dornach,rivers edge, or the pearl.

Can't go wrong with VA Beach. Southern NC is really nice too, Nags Head or the Outer Banks area has some good stuff.

I live about an hour from both. Give me an idea about your budget and when you plan to come. The courses on the Outer Banks(Northern Outer Banks, Nags Head, Kitty Hawk,ect.) are really expensive in season. The Currituck Club is over $150 per round, and the other 3 nice clubs in Currituck are all over $100. I think Seascape and Nags Head Golf Links may be over $100 too in season.

If you stayed in VA Beach and played in that area its a little more affordable, in the $60/round for some really nice courses in peak season.

Resurrecting thread.

Well I am going to be in Corolla (OBX) for a week or so at the end of June and don't relish playing the Currituck Club for $195/round or whatever it is now.

I'm good to drive an hour one way. Any suggestions?

The Carolina Club and The Pointe across the sound on US 158 might be your best bets for reasonable rates. Kilmarlic might also be more reasonable. Duck Woods might have lower rates than the other Outer Banks courses, but they are all too expensive for what you get in my opinion.

It's probably a little more than an hour away, but Scotch Hall Preserve in Bertie County is by far the best course in northeastern N.C. It's a Palmer course on the Chowan River. The rates are much better than the Outer Banks area, too. It's usually not crowded.
