I've played then for a little while now. They are performance distance ball for the japan market. The spin like an nxt tour, but the distance... Oh my, 20 to 30 yards longer. And I'm not kidding. I've hit over 300 yards a few times with it. My long drive with a pro v is about 285. At $2.50 a pop, you can't lose.

And yes, they do have the pearlesent to them.

All info so far is spot on, but also should note that they are NOT permitted in tournament play.

Why are they not tournament legal? Are they really that much longer? May have to try them out for fun!

$23 a dozen? Not bad. I was just at Golf Galaxy and selling for $2.50 a piece. I putted around with them and they feel solid, definitely a harder ball. Would it be weird to play a glittery ball? hahaha.

I went by GS and picked up a dozen. I got a mix of numbers, but my question is some have black numbers and some have red numbers. For example, some say Titleist (in black) 33 (in red) and some say Titleist (in black) and 33 (in black). Does this mean anything, like a low spin and high spin model? I got some of each just to try, not sure if I'll notice an immediate difference, but probably worth it for fun for $23 a dozen. BTW, they are a little sparkly, but nothing major that your playing partners would even notice.

Won long drive at my friend's company tournament yesterday using a VG3. 289 uphill with wet fairway.

How's the feel and spin?

I've been debating whether to move away from the Callaway Tour i(s). I love the ball in general, but I use a 910D2 off the tee. I switched my swing a little to hit off the sweet spot more consistent but I think it's producing too much backspin. Played the other day and a few times I nutted it, a good 250 carry but the ball literally took one hop in the fairway and stuck. Maybe 3-5ft from my ball mark. One time it actually spun back.

For driver, it's a very low spin ball. I played both Pro V and VG3 yesterday in the scramble and VG3 rolled a lot more and carried quite further. I love Pro V's spin, but I also hate that one good wedge shot, that ball is done. Here's my thinking: People love Pro V for a reason.... because of the short game, but if I'm longer and hitting a more lofted club on my approach shot, I can afford not having that Pro V's spin.

I tend to agree with you here. I played the same VG3 for most of my round yesterday vs. my Taylormade TP red. The VG3 was extremely durable, but with that came a great loss of feel for me. It definately felt like a harder ball. It seemed to carry further and roll out more though as well. With my higher lofted clubs it would hop once and stop. Where my TP red would hop and then spin back 10 or more feet, and have a good portion of the cover chewed up. With my longer irons (6-4) it wasn't as noticeable for me. For being a harder ball I assumed they would feel aweful with the putter, but I was pleasently surprised. They weren't quite as soft, but not much harder either.

All in all I think they are worth the $24 I payed for them. Don't know that I would pay much more, but they are a decent ball for the money.
