Oban Devotion 7 - Anti Hook?

I've been gaming a g15 with Oban Devotion 7 05 Flex for almost year now. It's definitely a fairway finder, but I have trouble hitting a draw with it. I hit a draw naturally with every other club in my bag.

 

Is it possible the Devotion 7 is so anti hook that I can't even turn it over? Anyone else experience this?

I agree. I draw everything and the Devo 7 has a romance going in the driver.
Straight and reliable. I can turn it over but I REALLY have to release it hard to get it going left.

What flex do you play? I have a Devo 7 in my 3 wood in 04 flex and can turn it over no problem. It's the 05 flex in my driver that seems to not want to draw at all.

I disagree, I went from a G15 with a stiff devotion 7 that I hooked like a champ to a SF TP 2.0 x flex Kiyoshi that I can hardly turn over.

Mine is 04 flex, tipped a little.
I found the G15 head to be a hook monster with a whiteboard.

The full flex difference (at least, Kiyoshi is stout, i'd venture definitely over a full flex diff) just may have had something to do with that, as well as the 2.0 being fade biased.

Agreed. COMPLETELY different drivers, and the Kiyoshi is much stouter as well as having one of the stiffer tips around.

Sorry to thread jack but I have a quick question. I have a devo 8 that I have been wanting to install in my driver. It's a 04 flex. I typically play stiff shafts tipped 1" in my driver. It feels smoother than playing an X. Would you recommend this for the devo? I have heard they play stiffer than normal.

I am not sure you can go wrong with tipping an inch here. That is one stout driver shaft!

I found that to be the case with the 910D2 + whiteboard for me. Put the R11 with a Devotion 6 - 04 Flex and I achieve pretty much an anti-left ball flight. I REALLY have to come over the top and flip my hands to get the ball to go left.

Actually, I believe the Devotion plays a little softer to flex. I have the 8 tipped about an inch and it feels great though.

Very true statement. I played a G15 with a Devotion 7 and loved it besides the fact I needed a stiff and not an X. I have one in my Superdeep that I like a lot as well.

I have a Devo8 with 5 flex (no tipping for me) & it goes dead straight - I haven't hit anything left since I got it which is perfect for me! - I have a very short fast swing & used to hit my Motore F1 stiff great but a bad swing usually ended up hooking left so I am well pleased not to do that anymore!

I played the Devo 7 O6 tipped in my TM Superfast and I could shape it however I wanted but I was never afraid of seeing a hook, merely a draw/cut. I could hit bomb cuts with it all day long. I recently got the R11 w/ Devo 7 O6 tipped and can still shape it both ways but very easy to play a cut all day without worrying about it spinning. I also got the R11 3 wood w/ Devo 8 O6, and the same goes for it as well, Draws/cuts no worry of a hook.
