At the suggestion of jdg2494 in my WITB thread, we should get a foursome (or more) to take on Echelon Golf Club, a 2006 Rees Jones design that weighs in at a meaty 7558 from the tips with a ridiculous rating of 77.8 and slope of 154.

Checking their online tee times, it looks like twilight starts at 2pm for $49 weekdays and $59 weekends. Tomorrow's Sunday tee times have twilight starting at 1pm for $54, but that's probably because it's tomorrow.

I'm available MWF 2:30pm and TR 2pm, but if we can't get 4 to do a weekday, weekends work as well. Depending on the response rate, I'm thinking of doing this 2 weeks from now, the week of Labor Day (so that we have time to make sure our games are in shape ).

I could give you $20, let you kick me as hard as you want in the groin, then go home. I would feel the same but save $30-$50 dollars.

Next Sunday is Labor Day weekend and if Echelon is any indication, courses jack up greens fees. Maybe the following Sunday 9/11?

The Manor only charges $59 after 2pm on the Weekends. I would be OK with the 11th. I will play anywhere. Perhaps we can even get a small game going with some money changing hands, nothing crazy, but enough to make it fun.

Yeah I am totally looking forward to a Par 5 where I hit driver, 4 wood, hybrid, wedge.........I am toally ready for the tour!

I think both Echelon and The Manor are on Golfnow, with both usually having "hot" times for reduced greens fees.

Since we've got a tentative foursome, do you guys want to pencil in Sunday, September 11 for a 2-3pm tee time? I live near Emory so both courses will be a 45 min drive, but I'd like to try Echelon first just because the layout looks so ridiculous.

We can reserve on Golfnow one week in advance. Should we have everyone reserve their own time where the first person to reserve posts their tee time so the rest can follow? Obviously, it'd be easier for 1 person to reserve for the whole group, but I don't know if no-show fees apply.

I'd definitely be up for a skins game or best ball. Alas, I am amazingly inconsistent at the moment.

Either course is fine with me, both are about 70minutes away (live in Dallas, GA). I am fine with booking it either way as well.

Weekends are a tough sell. I'm much better off during the week and typically in the AM.

Rather than me hold up the process, you fellas make the connection next Sunday. Otherwise, playing the, "well, I might be able to play this day..." could really put a nail in the coffin.

If Sunday doesn't materialize, I'd be up for next Monday or Wednesday. From looking at tomorrow and Thursday, it seems that if we only book 1 or 2 days in advance, there's usually a special twilight rate at the 2:20pm tee time for $40.

Looking at Echelon right now and they have a 2:15 tee time for Sunday 11th for $58 a person (heat rate). I started to look at the Manor but it looks like they recently aerified their greens.

Well, it looks like me, Yepyukon, alpha and darius can do Sunday around 2:15pm. Not sure if you guys want to wait to see if rates come down. Based on my OP, it looks like 2pm twilight rates on the weekend normally fall to $59 which is the current "fire rate" for 2:15pm, and it [i]is[/i] opening weekend for the NFL and the Falcons play at 1pm so I doubt tee times will fill up.

It looks like the 2:15 time is the only one where you can book a single (unless someone wants to go ahead and book for 4). Other ones are 2 players booked minimum. Am up for booking now or waiting, I just want to play!

FYI Echelon doesn't have the tee's placed on all of the tees that play at full length, nothing stopping you from walking back there. Good luck playing the way back tee's the normal back tee's are tough enough. My buddy played with a pro that has played mini tour events and he shot 80 from the full length tee's. I think the course has the hardest set of Par 5's in the state and could easily host a US Open.

I managed to injure my ribs somehow. It hurts to raise my right arm above my head, much less swing a golf club. I'm gonna have to tap out for Sunday, but I'm definitely in if it gets rescheduled (and I've healed).

By the way, I'm not for or against playing the tip-tips. Either way I'm fine, but usually not really a glutton for punishment. Just getting that out there for now. If it's part of the deal then I'm game.

I am in Darius if you want to book for me. Just let me know the cost I owe for the signup (I think it is like 4% of total or something) and the time you book it for. I am good any time but I think the consensus was 2pm or later.

Yeah, we ended up playing. Darius kicked the poop out of us I think, haha or at least I know he did me (but that might have been to only hitting 5 greens for the entire day). Was a lot of fun though and would like to do it again.
